Jeezus Christ!! I feel sick. |
|
I was just listening to NPR and they were reporting on events on Baghdad and how our forces used excessive force in trying to root out "bad guys". In the process, they hit two iraqi children in the head.
In the background you could hear their mother wailing with grief, "The Americans killed my children", she wailed. I started to cry and am still tearing up. Her wails of grief were haunting.
My God, please make it stop.

I don't even know what to say to express my outrage at the evil commented by our troops. Is it unpatriotic for me to want to see these people brought up for war crimes?

And cop killer bullets?
It would be poetic.

I truly don't recognize this country anymore. It's a feeling of hopelessness. I was too naive to believe it could come to this point.

Actually, it's just the beginning. If bush wins again, he will really come down hard with his rightist dictator attitude and policy.

8. This war is scudding the humanity from our soldiers |
|
Our own troops are doing some great evil in Iraq--no one, and I mean no one, can deny that to me. I would say that nothing is evil in the beginning, and if this same body of soldiers were part of an international UN peacekeeping mission without "imperialist occupier" bullseyes on their backs, they would be in far less danger of being permanently corrupted by this conflict. Even more so if they had never gone in the first place. We need to abandon the idea of permanent US bases. We need to abandon the idea of paying for this war with Iraqi oil. We need to go to the UN, let them take over leadership utterly, and remove ourselves from the decision-making. Let the peacekeepers include Arabs, of whom Egypt and Syria have helped in similar situations, and would likely do so under a UN-led mission. The solution is simple, but the terrible erosion of our troops' humanity over there is one of the worst crimes this Bush administration has perpetrated.

10. They don't want the UN there. |
|
Because they want the oil profits all for themselves. And our people and their people are paying for those profits with their lives.

Now, more than ever, we need to be out in the streets screaming our heads off in defense of our troops and the iraqi people. Why haven't we?

22. Here is what I think.... |
|
First of all, I'm not an american, I live out of my country cause of the pression of the US on us ( my country is in South America ). I have heard things of americans that makes me sick, I think not all americans are like their gov, thanks God. I like americans specially cause my only love is american, but when I was in the US I didn't understand why people belive so much on what is on TV or what the gov and its "good intentions" . And Why the people don't stop this gov, don't the american gov says that is Democratic? why is the monkey still in the gov?? What is on the news isn't new, has been the same for a very long period. My hope and I believe of too many out there is to have an american gov that only be within the US
