Bill Clinton for SCOTUS
that's exactly who the next Dem President should appoint.

Just think of it. It drive the wingnuts fucking nuts, and it'd say more about the Federalist Society idealogues Bush is appointing more than anyone else. Since a lot here have pointed out that an "extremist" judge from our perspective is actually one who stands up for the people, Clinton's appointment would be the ultimate payback.

Anyone agree this is a great idea? I would just LOVE to see the Free Republic posts when the nomination is made.

1. I thought he was disbarred...
I'm sorry, but I thought he was disbarred by Starr and his cronies!

5. Won't happen.
Yes, it would be a great idea in the sense that it would drive the freepers and right wing nuts.

But, honestly... can you really see the dynamic Bill Clinton sitting still in that black robe for hours and hours at a time, listening to arguments and reading legal briefs?

Not a chance. I think the Big Dog will choose his own path, and it won't be sitting in a courtroom. He's a people person. He'll always be doing something where he's mingling, discussing, debating, and influencing people directly.

6. It'll never happen - but it would be fun to watch, I agree
Plus, I'd love to see him on the same court as Rehnquist, though he'd probably be retired by then.

9. It would drive the RWers totally f-ing crazy!
But I don't think that's the Big Dog's path. Personally, I'd rather see Mario Cuomo on SCOTUS (you're right, it does sound like Scrotus). Bill has an agile mind, but I don't see it going in that direction. Cuomo would piss off the freeps almost as bad, and I think he'd welcome the nomination. I think Bill wants to be out there among the people.

I'd be down, not into centrist politics but the SCOTUS should be moderate.

Although I am not sure how well it would play out for reelection or the sheeples opinion of the Democratic party, but I am no political strategist.

Met plenty of "democrats" who don't like him either, so I know it will make some... republican lite? Dinos? angry as well.

My girlfriends 'democrat' brother said upon Hillary Clintons name being said "I hate her." I ask, "Why". He doesn't respond, so I go "Is it because the television told you to?". That pissed him off, but seemed to be the case.

11. I can see FAUX News Headlines Now
"Hello Mary Lou: William Howard Taft II" followed by Newt Gingrich and a slew of other conservative commentators telling America why Clinton will never be on the SCOTUS.
