Possible future endorsements of importance
I'm just wondering which famous dems will and will not endorse one of the candidates at a time when it makes a difference

I think that the Clintons will refrain, but other than that there are a lot of possibles

obviously a Gore endorsement would make a big difference

also

Carter
Mondale
McGovern

Some senators and governors may as well, I'd be interested to know from the people who have been talked about as potential future candidates and veeps like

Feingold
Landrieu
Reid
Vilsack
Napolitano
Richardson

as well as the elder statesmen like Hollings.

and many celebrities as well

who do you expect to make this type of anouncement?

1. Also groups
Unions that haven't committed yet
Environmental Orgs (probably Sierra Club is the most important)
NARAL
DLC (I know DUers don't like them but some people follow them)
MoveOn (if anyone can ever get more than 50%)

2. Have Carter, Mondale and McGovern endorsed in previous primaries?
I don't think most of those Senators up for reelection in 2004 are going to endorse before someone has a lock on the candidacy. (Feingold, Reid)

Vilsack is governor of the first caucus in the nation... probably he won't endorse before early February.

according to Roll Call. I also doubt Vilsack will endorse before the IA caucuses.
