I have expressed elsewhere that allowing the repubs to take the California governorship is like letting the proverbial camel's nose under the tent. Admittedly, there is no direct link to the governorship and the ultimate lose of the state's electoral votes, but there are so many opportunities for unforeseen consequences with a repub governor one has to be skeptical.
In truth, we cannot afford to give an inch in any battle because inches tend to become miles. Erosion of any advantage we may have is dangerous.
