I Think My Friend May Be Turning Into A Rabid Freeper!
I have a close friend whom I admire & respect. He is very smart & we 90% of the time agree on most things political.Last night he told me that The "Right Wing"has 'something' on Howard Dean. Apparently, they are rooting for him & want him to win the nomination. He said they have something on him that will give Bush the white house again. I asked for more details & heres what he said:

'Someone very high up in DC has the good s on Dean. A MAJOR scandal that will cause him the election. The Bush administration isn't even concerned with Howard Dean.'

I asked him where he heard this.Does he have a link or source? He said he got it from Matt Drudge. I WAS PI##ed off! This guy is smart & he's listening to Drudge? He says Drudge is mostly right.I reminded him about the Al Gore opening a diner story, he said he never heard that before. He then said Drudge is atleast fair. I said "WHAT?!" He bashes Clinton & the liberals NON-STop! He had no idia what I was talking about.

He is all for Arnold for Gov. Said Bush has surprised him lately, & is speaking out against many gay issues lately( months ago this guy hated Bush & was a BIG supporter for gay rights ) He just became a father & he's really getting into material things lately.Security is his main issue these days. This, being a good husband & father.I've heard that many young new parents morph into Repugs & I fear this is hapening with him

Has anyone heard this Howard Dean rumor before?

1. I havent
but if youre screaming at your friend for ignorance, that isnt going to attract him to your ideology but repel him to learn to counter your screaming.

2. Rush Linburger said Kerry had the goods.

I take it with a grain of salt....and expect empty rumors to fly. If they can't fess up and just tease and insinuate...it's probably an empty puff of smoke.

Linburger said it about 2 days ago when he was calling Dean Nikita Dean......

3. I agree....
and I haven't "heard" anything either. It could be a GOP strategy, start a rumour about Dean, that they know something, and scare people off him...furthering their constant divide and conquer strategy.
The fact is, we all have skeleton's of some kind in our closet.
I don't understand why politicians try and hide things anymore....to me it makes sense to get as much out in the open as possible as soon as possible, that way people can grow to accept it.
Look at * and his drug past. None of your business, won't talk about it. And what did the press do? They folded. Screw that...if they can berate Clinton into a lie about a lousy bj, and impeach him on it...then ANYTHING is possible.

4. Sort of the old LBJ thing...
...I can't remember who this was about, but LBJ said to leak out that his opponent had sex with pigs...he was told, "Nobody will believe that!!!", and LBJ said "I know, I just want to hear the bastard deny it"...

Remember, top story when an issue comes out, page 47 when the reality comes out...

6. Speaking with a friend in Vermont,
on the phone the other night about Dean and his views about the former Governor running for president...

The one thing that really stood out was that he referred to Dean as being "clean" and that they wouldn't have anything to use against him. That doesn't mean they won't float lies or fabricate scandals through their usual means of dispersing the negative spin. That is to be expected and we have to build up representation on our side to counter their lies and give voice to the opposition. All of the candidates, even Lieberman, through his increasing lack of credibility, are serving to challenge the lock this administration has held on where the country stands for far too long.

Sad that your friend can't see that Bush puts his children at the greatest disadvantage if they were not born with a silver spoon.

8. I've heard that too.
That personally, Dean is a squeaky clean as a whistle. When I told my parents about him (swing voters), one of the first things they said was: "Sounds good. But is he like Clinton?" I knew immediately what Dad was referring to.

10. Well, I can't imagine the right wing knowing
something that Dean doesn't.If they have the goods on Dean, Dean will know what they're talking about, right?

I'm not trying to sway him from one side to the other. He told me last night that I should try growing up a bit (he then followed it with a "no offense") I'm sorry I didn't press him on that, I really wish I knew what he meant about that. But I did say to him Drudge is not a credible source & he couldn't figure out why.He called Matt a journalist, a respected news man & said he's this generations Walter Winchel. My jaw just dropped. He is the one who sent me this link months ago & thought it was awesome!

7. I wouldn't worry about thie rumor
BTW, many parents do become Republican-leaning. Don't it let it hurt your friendship; as Bertrand said, make your points but don't attack him.

9. If they actually had the goods
would they let it leak now or destroy him later? I mean when Bush was getting hit by being arrested for DUI (as a rich kid) a few weeks before his Republican election and he toss that mess back in a week.
Only Dean knows what they can find out and right now I'm sure its the Dems looking into him first.

12. EXCELLENT
Let us throw the floodgates open on a candidates past, all candidates. The last thing rovebush wants is a candidates private doings being a campaign issue. I suggest otherwise. As some dumbass once said, BRING IT ON ...

14. If Dean thought that the RW had something "big" against him
do you actually think he would be running? I don't think so. This is total RW bullshit. Dean is too smart; he knows that if they had "real baggage" the repugs would find out and crucify him and he wouldn't be running.
