Arnold announces, Issa jumps out....Hmmmmm.... |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-08-03 01:20 PM by BiggJawn
I'll try to stretch this to 5 lines w/o "cheating"... So Arnold announce his candidacy on Leno, and the very next day, Issa, who plowed, by some guestimates, 2 Megabucks of his OWN ill-gotten cash ("Stand BACK! this vehicle protected by VIPER!") into the effort, then (tearfully) announce that he's pulling out, and it was NEVER about him wanting to be Governor in the First place.
Ok, for our discussion.
I think it's a given that Karl Rove made some phone calls. Now, my tinfoil hat is buzzing that Karl first called Arnold to tell him to announce ("But Karl, my faddah was a Nazi"..."So what, so was Poppy's Dad...") then Karl called Issa to tell him to back off or it could get "unpleasant" for him, just like he told John McCain. Remember? When McCain was building a head of steam, only to suddenly explode his boiler and go off the rails? the story I heard then was that Karl called him and said "Look, John, either you drop out now and get behind Junior, or the story will get out about how you lost your marbles in the Hanoi Hilton..."
What say Ye, Oh fellow Evil DU'ers?

1. I think I know why the WH would favor Ahnold or even Arianna. |
|
Any other governor would aspire eventually to be president. Neither Ahnold, nor Arianna, can't so that keeps the national throne vacant for the next Bush, Jeb. I think they are grooming George, Jeb's son to be president too. Ah, the dynastic aspirations of it all.

I am sure that either the RNC or the WH pushed Issa out of the race.

4. Just another "lucky break" for those Busheviks |
|
I have to say that ex-car thief Issa's tears make me laugh.
Isn't there enough historic data which shows what the Busheviks do to their patsies when they are through using them, from Osama Bin Laden and Ken Starr all the way back to Jack Ruby and James Earl Ray?
Issa should have known better. He knows now.
Will it matter? Probably not. Once a Capo in the BFEE, always a Capo in the BFEE.

5. And don't forget the others, either... |
|
Lee Oswald, John Hinckley, Sirhan Sirhan...Wasn't John Hinckley's parents friends with one of the Bush Boyz? I recall reading that Oswald had some introduction to Texas "High Society" and the Bushies, too.
I don't think Issa was a Bush shill at the start. i think he honestly wanted to use his fortune to unhorse Gray Davis and set himself up as Guv.
But I think Karl (and maybe The TinMan, too) "Broke the Seven Seals" and showed him what a short and painful future lay in store for him if he didn't bail out and fast...
