WOW JAG is trying Boikin tonight
those who do not know who Major General Boykin is, watch
JAG and replace names, an inflamatory speech, in uniform,
representing the Army. Discurpting good order and discipline, conduct unbecoming, WOW they have done on Teevee what the Army did not have the guts to do...

1. I watched it earlier
And thought ultimately it was RW. But I'm not an objective observer, I guess.

2. Did you follow the actual case
If you did, you will realize this is NOT Right Wing, they are
having the argument that the Armed Forces should have had

In fact, what happened here, a General Court Martial, is what
should have happened to Boykin... and my Lord... the Secretary
of Defense is Rumsfeld, in some ways.

I am married to a veteran of the Armed Forces, who was active
duty at the time and if he had said IN UNIFORM what Boykin\Watson they used, he would have been Court Martialed so fast, it is NOT even funny....

I realize that if you have no contact with the Military you would miss the fine points here.

5. I see your point
I think it was a little more balanced than Fox News (or real life). But at the end, the "news" on "ZNN" seemed to justify that General's actions.

And by the way, the actor that played the Secretary does resemble Rumsfeld, but I thought he looks like Bob Dole even more.

3. But....he got off, with "counseling" even though he clearly
broke the rules...like Brig. Gen. Karpinski??? (But Harmie ALWAYS wins, no matter what.)

They managed to again subtley assume that Saddam was linked to terrorism...

Mac had the best line at the very ened as ZNN is reporting that soldiers are killed and there's a threat of a Holy War issued by a group of insurgents.
Harmie says it proves this general is a guy they need. And Mac says, "or isn't needed" (sic)

But overall, it pandered like crazy, slipping in the Iraqis are better off than before, Saddam and terror, etc.

4. Exactly
Thank you for making my point. :)

At the end, I thought to myself that Mac and Harm were like Crossfire hosts, though.

6. I think they were trying to get a seed, a mustard seed to use
Edited on Sat May-01-04 12:10 AM by nadinbrzezinski
our glorious leader's words... Mac's, "or not," is how much of us
felt after the Boykin incident, which has been shall we say... put to the side, succesfully by senior officers in the military.

Her final comment, Mac, "Or NOT..."tells the story, at least in my view.

Now truth is, what she said, and this is the insight from the armed forces, is exaclty the way many military members felt like... OR NOT...

I'll admit, I had the priviledge, (0r not) of watching this while my husband was still in, and got to hear the anger by many senior NCOs, at boykin getting away wiht murder... everybody knew that if they said, this is a (insert religion here) in uniform, they woudl have had the UCMJ broken in their backs. Her statement sums it up for me... or not, the UCMJ was not broken in the back of Boykin as much as we wrote, pleaded and asked.

As to Karpinsky, I dunno about you, but sent the photos to Congress, in the last 24 hours they have moved from under investigation to most likely court martial, general court martial.

Oh and I forgot to add, I also served in uniform (not the US Military, as a Medic) and taking any stance while in uniform that could be misconstrued as an official statement, was a no-no. Hence why I possibly have an insight that most do not... now if Bush manages to stay in power, many more will have the honor (or not) of getting this insight, we call it a draft...
