1. "Politics" is not a game. |
|
And it's not a dirty word. It's how an awful lot of things get decided, and those things affect all of us, from whether the government can snoop on our reading habits to whether our sons and daughters get sent places to try to kill other people's sons and daughters.

4. Simple. Effective. Successful |
|
The best response would be to state two things:
1) "You are right Mr. President, it is politics." and
2) "You are right Mr. President, it is class warfare."
Then proceed to detail populist point by populist point how the Bush administration has failed America.
Simple. Effective. Successful.

That is the quandry when being faced with this childish stratagem (also covered under the psychomanipulative tactic of "innoculation) which the Busheviks have damn near perfected.
For instance:
Car Thief Issa used squadrons of the homeless to push through his recall effort, paying them peanuts.
Which is, of course, the same mostly untrue slander that the Repugs have levelled against Dems for years, never needing to prove it thanks to their highly effective Party-Line Right-Wing Sub-Media and Lie Laundry, which is as effective as anything Orwell or Goebbels ever dreamed up.
Ditto for the "politics" bullshit.
Ditto for the "obsessed with polls" bullshit.
Ditto with the "Dems use emotion we use logic" bullshit.
An on and on ad nauseum. :puke: :puke:
This facet of psychomanipulative "innoculation" serves to blunt opposition criticism. Further, it serves the "masking noise" which is also a hallmark of Bushevik Goebbels v2.0, which seeks to throw so much nosie into the system as to render everyone senseless and confused as to throw their hands up and just trust it all to the Emperor.
How to defeat it? That's another story.
Consult a psychologist or an advertising person.

6. The US Media lets "its all politics" work for Bush - because US media is? |
|
not controlled by the right wing GOP, they just act like they are controlled by the right wing GOP.
Lies leading to war - just politics - everybody does it.
Call the Dems "obsessed with polls" because we - the GOP - are indeed "obsessed with polls" and this allows the media to ignore that fact.
But then the media ignores many facts about this "popular president" - including the fact that he is no longer that popular.

9. They've been ramping up this spin for months |
|
Seriously, when was the last time anyone here has heard an attack on Bush being reported solely on its merits, rather than being couched in terms of "electoral strategy", "presidential ambitions", "partisan politics", etc?
It's kind of like how, back in '98/'99, CNN took to referring to President Clinton merely as "Clinton", whereas Bush the Unelected is *never, ever* referred to without his official title. It's a very, very subtle way of conferring legitimacy on Bush vs. detracting from the perceived legitimacy of his predecessor.
(ps: if anyone thinks the RW doesn't play these sorts of childish word-games for exactly this kind of PR effect, just notice how their spokespeople can't even utter the word "Democratic" anymore -- it's always "the Democrat Party", "the Democrat nominee", "the Democrat plan", etc. These people are *very* into this sort of Orwellian word-game, and when the order goes out through their ranks, they goose-step in well-practiced unison.)
