We need to make bill boards listing the names
of those killed in in Iraq for cheneys oil. Get them setup all over the nation. It could be a campaign strategy.

Stop this senseless war. Put the criminals in the White House and their supporters who LIHOP/MIHOP as an excuse to start this atrocity in The Middle East, in prison where they belong.

If we, the citizens of this country do not get out "leaders" under control real soon, before the blow back turns the US of A into a war zone.

I want my country back.

1. How About This One...
I like your idea...but we'd need an electronic sign that is constantly updated...sadly.

My thinking is something going back to the Iran hostage fiasco. One of the most moving symbols was that farm in Pennsylvania or wherever which added a flag every day of captivity. I suggest, if someone has the land available to arrange the 700 or so names...each attached to an American flag that would fly as a living tribute to their national service and sacrafice and be a growing reminder to the rest of us of the continuing mess as more and more flags dot the landscape. Imagine an arial shot of all those flags...a solemn reminder of the growing loss of American life that hopefully will jog some to ask the most important first question: Why???

2. I absolutely agree
Just seeing DU's home page covered in these names was a VERY powerful thing for me.

3. True enough.
I wonder why Lunaville's count is 845 and the news says over 700? Where did the extra 145 come from? Anyone know why there is such a huge discrepancy?

6. Part of the discrepancy may come from
the 'rumor' that if our soldiers don't die on the spot, but survive long enough to be transported away from it, they are not included in the official death toll.

5. The Official Counts
Why does Lunaville say 845 and Fox say 700+?

845 is the number of coalition dead. About 700 of them are Americans.

Too damn many in either case.

Any list should include both classes of the dead.

8. i volunteer my front yard
(again) ;)

it's not that big, but it's not small. it could hold a few posters w/the names listed on them and maybe some flags. it wouldn't hold the great name + flag idea of another poster, but i'm sure we could brainstorm an compromise until someone donates something larger.
