4. What he really meant to say: |
|
April 30, 2004
Senator John McCain Chairman United States Senate Commerce Committee U.S. Senate Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator McCain:
I am writing to respond to your letter to me regarding SinclairBroadcast Group's decision not to air this evening's episode of "Nightline."
Let me begin by saying that I was off getting a hum-job from a prostitute at Fell's Point when your letter reached my desk. Sorry for the delay in getting this note off to you, but a guy my age needs some "young stuff" to make me feel like a real man. Unfortunately for me, I am not very attractive to most women, so I have to drive my Mercedes off to where my "regular" um... date hangs out. I hope that this letter has adequately addressed your concerns and explained why Sinclair has taken this action. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you in greater detail. In addition, if you are available, we would be delighted to provide you with a chance to be part of our program this evening discussing this issue. In the alternative, maybe you and I could drive down to "The Point" and get us some.
Sincerely yours,
David D. Smith

5. Nice guy, this David Smith |
|
David D. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Sinclair Broadcast Group, was arrested this week in his hometown of Baltimore and charged with a misdemeanor sex offense. Sinclair owns WPGH, the Fox affiliate in Pittsburgh, and programs most of WPTT. http://www.atrios.blogspot.com/2004_04_25_atrios_archive.html#108335351404593578RL

6. David Deniston Smith: moral pillar, family values, patriot(?) etc. |
|
from buzzflash and the Baltimore Sun:
David Smith was arrested and charged for performing a perverted sex act in a company-owned(Sinclair)Mercedes on the streets of downtown Baltimore. He was caught in a sting op set up by the Baltimore PD. This was published on 8-15-96 in the Baltimore Sun.
Aw, these patriots really slay me.

7. ergo, one of the problems with corporations; and, their control of Media |
|
Edited on Sat May-01-04 10:26 AM by cosmicdot
corporations are much like the old Soviet system ... it comes down to a power of one, and not the many ... the stockholders are mere "paperwork" to make it seem democracy is in-process (see Duma); and, the Board of Directors/Officers are the Politburo clones ... the Duma, with a few rare exceptions in our legislatures, is mere corporate chattel ...
of course, we have Tass and Pravda to complete the infrastructure
Take Back our Media .... yes ... but, the corporate system as it exists today deserves a stake thru the heart ... it, and its good ol'boys are killing us and our Society and our democratic way of life/principles ...
... and, our candidate really needs to tackle this animal full and head-on ... only winning the White House may not be enough to save us from the beast ... we need to establish who is boss in this society ... the David Smiths? the Maurice Greenbergs? the Warren Buffetts? the Jackson Stephenses? the Richard Mellon Scaifes?
... or ... We the People
