The Democrats Big Lie (A hilarious piece by a known PNAC'er)
Edited on Fri Aug-08-03 04:14 PM by trumad
Ahhh Frank Gaffney is trying to turn those who are catching the lies into liars about the lie. Folks...if you want to understand how the PNAC'ers work this is a marvelous study....

<snip>
Adolf Hitler (search) once observed that it was easier to convince people of a "big lie" repeated often enough than it was to deceive them with a lot of small ones.

2. Bit of a bad move, I think.
The "big lie" has been so fundamental to *Bushista politics that no-one who wants to support him should never say those words above a whisper. Yelling that "people who say I am a lier are lying" only calls the attention of the mob to the fact that people say you lie.

3. "I know you are, but what am I"
Just posted about this on a PeteNYC thread.

It is entirely amusing that Bushevik Gaffney, pretty much summarizes the Repug strategy by accusing the Democrats of pursuing it.

Amazing and shameless.

But then, we know what level of shame and conscience these Totalitarian Bushevik Capos and Buttons have. The same as the Imperial Family itself.

None.

4. One Thing He's Right About is Mentioned in the Daily Howler:

In his annual address, Mr. Bush correctly noted that British intelligence believed -- as it happens, on the basis of myriad sources it deems credible (and not a forged document in U.S. possession) -- that this effort included attempts to buy uranium (search) in Africa.

Bush didn't mention the forged document in the SOTU address. He just mentioned intelligence about attempts to buy uranium in Africa. There were other sources, such as reports of Saddam sending emissaries into the rebellious areas of Western Congo. Despite the forgery, Saddam might have made these attempts.

Still doesn't prove anything. The characterization as it has come out of cherry picking, bending and hyping intelligence sources is absolutely correct. And I'm really glad the press finally did it's job on the whole. PNACers must be aghast at the change.
