A preview of this week's freper attack on Kerry
I'm sure this will make the rounds this week, continuing the vicious and slanderous attack on Kerry's service record:

Kerry 'Unfit to be Commander-in-Chief,' Say Former Military Colleagues
By Marc Morano
CNSNews.com Senior Staff Writer
May 03, 2004

(CNSNews.com) - Hundreds of former commanders and military colleagues of presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry are set to declare in a signed letter that he is "unfit to be commander-in-chief." They will do so at a press conference in Washington on Tuesday.

-snip-

"We have 19 of 23 officers who served with . We have every commanding officer he ever had in Vietnam. They all signed a letter that says he is unfit to be commander-in-chief," O'Neill said.

-snip-

Swift Boat Veterans For Truth maintains that Kerry's fellow Vietnam veterans are almost uniform in their disdain for his military service and anti-war protests.

"Not only a majority of the people who served with him feel that way, but a vast and overwhelming majority," O'Neill said. He added that more than "ninety percent of the people contacted by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth responded to the request to sign their name, with only 12 declining to sign.

8. Kerry Vietnam crew photos
Kerry did 2 tours of duty - volunterred for both. Having recieved 3 purple hearts he was eligible for early out of the second tour, and was granted an early out.

In late January 1969, Kerry joined a five-man crew on swift boat No. 94 completing 18 missions over 48 days, almost all of them in the Mekong Delta.

On March 13, 1969, a mine detonated near Kerry's boat, wounding Kerry in the right arm. He was awarded his third Purple Heart.

2. Yeah. Right.
After its nine-day mudstorm, it will come out that there were certain, ah, discrepancies in the report, including several of Kerry's COs who were never even in his chain of command, let alone in Vietnam.

This has all the hallmarks of a GOP Hate Machine campaign. Nine days of scandal, followed by three months of unreported backpedalling and covering-up.

Been there, seen that.

4. It was nice to see this pro-Kerry article on the Front Page of my Sunday
paper!

Solider Kerry saved fights again by his side
As the candidate takes political fire, James Rassmann of Florence could help tip the race as a living record of Kerry's combat heroism

Kerry said he doesn't emphasize his military service as the major rationale to elect him. "All parts of my life are part of what I believe qualify me to be president."

But historian Brinkley said presidential candidates have long emphasized their military service and that the saving of Jim Rassmann could weigh heavily with voters.

"The Rassmann story was an important story in John Kerry's life," said Brinkley. "When we're trying to understand who this guy is, . . . when we contemplate what he did in Vietnam, it enhances his candidacy tremendously."

5. This will entertain them...
For a short time. Then, they will have to return to the age-old Freeper philosophical question:

Which is more entertaining: Pulling the wings off of flies and watching them try to take off, or pulling the logs off of flies and watching them try to land?

Stuff like this can freeze them in place for hours.

10. I'd be more impressed if...
...bush produced one person HE served with!

How 'bout that James Bath guy? I'm sure he's got some pretty good stories about their time in the guard together.
