Randi saying what some of us have been saying about Democrats
..speaking to people saying Democrats aren't saying what we want to hear or not standing up to the GOP - Randi is saying the Dems ARE doing it but the media isn't allowing us to hear it.

2. Watching C-Span is an eye-opening experience
Just 15 minutes of a House session and you know what's going on.

I have much sympathy for all the Dems & what they're going through. It would be too frustrating for me to handle without fists flying (which is what they want us to do): Provoke. Taunt. Set-up & take down. Called "angry" & "partisan" for fighting back.

These Repugs are chickenshits, every one of 'em. Even the decent ones are spineless. Not our Dems, tho. They're tough enough to not come unglued. they're attacking the foundation. I know who to blame.

We ARE making progress. There's alot to chip away at.

3. She's exactly right...

Cable news will not give Dems any airtime. That is a PROVEN fact. So it's really easy to watch GOPTV and think the Dems aren't fighting back, which is exactly what the corporowhoremedia wants. They want total apathy within our party which causes lots of Nader votes. It's the same game they played in 2000.

Fuck cable news. We need our own channel. We have to do whatever it takes to get our own media outlets. This is where we fucked up in the 90s.

6. Cut the cable now and go for a trifecta !
If you cut the cable you will help starve the Media Beast, free your mind for richer fare, and save money that you can donate to the candidate of your choice.

A trifecta in any league, except of course the Bush League.

5. Absolutely! She is right!
They give press conferences - press doesn't cover them either. happened to Clinton too! I remember after the Pillsbury report - exhonerating him from Whitewater - he was explaining them stuff - no one was taking notes. "You are just not going to cover this?" "Nope"

...that should let a couple hundred Dems off the hook.

- Randi is a cheerleader...that's her job...but enough is enough. The Dems haven't done their 'job' since 2000. The whole world has been watching and waiting for them to do something, anything to organize an effort against the Bush* junta. But now they've been given yet one more excuse to hide instead of directly attacking Bush* and confronting him on the truth.

> let a couple hundred Dems off the hook.

I'd be happy if they let a couple dozen on the air once in a while, like the GOP gets every freaking day.

Where's the wall-to-wall coverage of Tom Delay's indictment?
Where's the incisive questioning about Dick Cheney's blatant conflict of interest?
Where's the flap about Rove's black ops blowing CIA agent Plame's cover?

If Clinton had committed a quarter of the crimes this administration has pulled, the media whores would have been all over him like flies on shit. Is that news to you?

12. Sadly, I agree.
Don't get me wrong the U.S. news media is atrocious, but the DLC-led Democratic Party is proving to be woefully inept at countering the GOP political machine. Half the time they appear fearful or indifferent. The rest of the time, complicit.

I'm sure John Kerry will fix all that... LOL.

11. Partially right. I have seen many Dems on who do not speak to the issues.
Edited on Mon May-03-04 05:27 PM by madfloridian
We sit here watching some of them speak on issues. They often do not point out lies and half-truths. So many are so afraid of being jumped on by the other side.

I saw a spokeswoman for Kerry absolutely ignore issues. I saw Richardson miss golden opportunities to respond on the Kerry tax issue.

So what she is saying is only partly right. They must speak more powerfully when they are on TV.

On Edit: Hilary Clinton had a whole bunch of minutes on Letterman. My hubby said she said nothing at all. I did not hear that. He was irritated.

13. it's the media at fault here.... they are owned by the Corporations
AND corporations are the real problem...They own the White House they bought it in 2000... They also own congress and they don't want us to find out about it....They feed us startling story's about murder of Lacey Peterson, the rape of Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson, and the Whoppers of how brilliant this President is and how STRONG he is.... Some are out and out lies and some are based on truth ....All are manufactured to keep our attention off the crimes The Corporations/White House are committing...This illegal war has caused death and destruction to all EXCEPT FOR THE CORPORATIONS/WHITE HOUSE who forced Cheney's energy task force to divvy up the oil fields immediately as soon as they stole the White House and get ready to give the OIL to the corporations As soon as they could create a War in Iraq....Paid for by taxpayers .... And on top of that they figured out how WE could pay for it all....The only other thing the pResident did before 911 was shift taxes from Corporations and the ultra RICH to US, THE MIDDLE CLASS.... the more the smoke clears and the TRUTH starts to appear, the harder it is to believe that those in-charge in the Corporations/White House did not plan 911 .....WE'VE DEFINITELY BEEN HAD........But the "smoke and mirrors" are slowly clearing.....

Or it's a combination of both.

But we can no longer say the answer is Democratic Weakness alone.
