One Fell Swoop
I don't mean to be overly dramatic, but it happens to every great dynasty. They all overreach. How far we fall, is anyone's guess. One thing's for certain, when this is all said and done, our standing and credibility in the world will have taken a very big hit (it already has). I'm sure we can't even appreciate how the rest of the world feels about us right now. As if we didn't have enough enemies, this venture into Iraq and all that has followed has only swelled our enemies' ranks. In one fell swoop, George W. Bush and his enablers (that includes all of the right wing sheep)have greatly diminished America and all that it stands for.

1. Bush took away
my pride in being an American. I'll never forgive him for that.

6. Why give Bush that much
Edited on Wed May-05-04 09:50 PM by devrc243
power? Giving up your pride of being an American to Bush? Fight for what we know makes America a great country. There are alot of wonderful people here. Guess it's hard for me to understand this since I had parents who fought in WWII. I look to their legacy for I relish in the pride that America is a great place, especially in times when I start to feel the "gloom and doom" that is going on now. Bush is just a spoiled rich kid. I would never give my pride to that.

2. Well, I just wish
the 48% who approve of the job he's doing would get themselves to some 12 step program and stop enabling him.

I'm beginning to think he could blow up the world and his enablers would still think he's terrific.

3. All true...
... but genuine imperialists are immune to such criticism. *sigh* These people are happy to be feared and loathed. For them, that's proof they're proceeding in the right direction.

The rest of us, well, we're aghast.
