When will "Farenheit 9/11" be on video?

Has anyone heard what the schedule is for the video release of "Farenheit 9/11"?

I hope it is released before November. But I fear it will not, based on the incredibly long time it took to release "Bowling for Columbine" on video.

or did they just get distribution rights?

it's possible that Moore could get out of that contract if he financed independent from Disney. Then he could find another way to distribute it.

But I'm not buying any of this stuff. It's all a publicity stunt, IMO - almost as brilliant as Coke/New Coke/Coke Classic

I seriously doubt that Eisner would allow himself to be portrayed as a mousy corporate whore for a Republican Governor, just to drum up interest in a movie. He's got egg on his face now. He would never sign off on a publicity stunt that made him look bad. It just doesn't add up.

9. Eisner is on his way out

He hasn't had any power for some time & the board is using him as the scapegoat. demonizing his decision then booting him will calm the shareholders' concerns.

What doesn't add up is Disney throwing away a surefire moneymaker (that's showing in Cannes) because they maybe might lose a tax break in Florida. No company of that size knuckles under like that & lets things get that far on accident. Remember, the corporations own the Bushies - not the other way around.

7. Generally a 4-6 month lag between theatrical runs and DVD release.

...but it all depends on how successful the films are. Some, like "Gigli" get released within a couple of months. Others, like "Lord of the Rings" get DVD releases 10 months later or more.

Since F911 has no release date yet, it's hard to say, but I would guess that if it has a July release date, that we should see it on DVD around Christmas...too late for the election. Most Summertime films do not go to video until at least the second week in November. Tommorrow's biggie, "Van Helsing" would most likely be an October DVD release.
