So...how long does Rummy have?
I think he'll resign sometime over the weekend...a lot depends on the mood of the Senate Armed Services Committee...but if these damn photos keep getting released each depicting a new gruesome outrage well...
I dunno, frankly at this point I don't see how Rumsfeld can stay on.
But I could be wrong.
Any other guesses out there?

1. It's too late...
Bush had a chance to fire him yesterday and he blew it. Resignation at this point won't put out the fire. It won't do a damned thing.

I'll be glad to have Rummy gone, but does that mean that Wolfewitz will be Defense Secretrary?

4. wolfowitz next in line --- my concern, too
it can get worse

replacing Rumsfeld with someone else, other than Wolfowitz, will be spun to make it look good for Shrub

7. We should keep Rumsfeld if our next in line is Wolfie
He scares the shit outta me .... The devil you know .... you know....

Maybe a humbled skittish Rumsfeld would be better than Wolfie his successor ... until November .... When we kick their asses outta there.

11. I think I agree
Wolfowitz scares the crap outta me. Rumsfeld I think is off balance, but Wolfie is just plain insane.

12. Yup!
I agree . . . nothing will be done . . . no resignation, no nothing. They are going to pray this goes away . . .but deep down they know it won't. . .

6. As long as W has

Mr. Bush first mentioned the abuse scandal publicly last Friday in the Rose Garden, when he said he shared "deep disgust" about the photographs. That evening, he went to a party at Mr. Rumsfeld's house in the Kalorama section of Washington, where it is not known whether he and his defense secretary talked about the pictures.

8. Kerry's Inauguration Day 2005
They can't fire Rummy. If the White House ever admits culpability at the top for any mistake, it's whole house of cards of lies comes tumbling down.

10. Rummy just seems to be Big Dick's enforcer
He's what James Baker was to Bush I. He's a complete company man who follows orders with ruthless drive. Actually, under another president and vice-president, and some lessons in how to work with others, Rumsfeld may have been an impressive Secretary of Defense. (Not?)
