OK,
So what is the fallout of this apology thing?
First, isn't it interesting that Bush couldn't find an Iraqi to apologize to? This just underscores the fact that the Americans are ruling Iraq. Who would Bush apologize to there? Paul Bremmer?
Second - Freeper Madness. This whole affair has revealed more freeping hypocrisy than any other single event in this President's tenure. Every family has a loud obnoxious uncle that has dominated their gatherings with Bush support. That asshat is humbled and in his place now. If he's wrong about this, what else is he wrong about? Expect flowers of inquiry to bloom in the muck.
Third, Bush has promised us to keep this as an issue through the campaign! He won't fire Rummy, he can't actually address the situation, the soldiers are going to talk at their trials, and tales of coverup and contractors and far reaching abuse will drag on. Mr. President, your albatross is here.

4. Rangel was referring to Congress removing Rummy from office, |
|
not the Busboy, I believe. Says if the Sec of Def doesn't resign and isn't fired Congress ought to take action to remove him.
