Did Bush apologize?
Yes or no? Did he say I/we are sorry? Did he say anything like that. I am seeing conflicting information here.

8. NO, here is a link
http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/home/main100.shtml - on front page

President Bush told Jordan's King Abdullah he "was sorry for the humiliation of the Iraqi prisoners" by U.S. soldiers. The president also said Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld would remain in his Cabinet despite calls for his resignation

*****
I'm sorry for the humiliation, too, but that doesn't mean I'm apologizing for it.

15. That is correct. I heard it live.
My husband came charging into the house and turned on the radio, so I heard it. I was supposed to be working, but I stopped to listen.

Shrub did not say much. I think he was mostly making the appearance for show, and to cover Rummy's butt.

Remember, Abdullah was supposed to come here a few weeks ago, but he postponed, because of the support shrub gave to Sharon during THEIR meeting.

The Jordanians should be an important ally for us in the ME. They seem to want to work with us. Shrub keeps blowing it.

Can you imagine what Abdullah thinks of our idiot of a president?

6. He's sorry it happened.
As usual, he stopped short of actually accepting any responsibility. Sort of like, "Sorry you had a bad day. Not that it has anything to do with me."

9. "It's a sunny day" he ended yesterday interview

"I'm the commander - see, I don't need to explain - I don't need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation".

From Yahoo News.com:

With King Abdullah II of Jordan at his side, Bush...said he...(had told the King he was)..."sorry for the humiliation suffered by the Iraqi prisoners and the humiliation suffered by their families," and said the images had made Americans "sick to their stomach."

He DIDN'T apologize for the abuse, just the result of it. Also, doing it next to the king of Jordan rather than the interim Iraqi governing council isn't exactly a confidence booster, either. I feel sorry they were humiliated too, but I wasn't the cause of it. There's a big difference between "I'm sorry you were humilitated" and "I'm sorry I humiliated you."

12. you're right - he didn't.....not exactly
what he said was
that he 'had told the King of Jordon that he was sorry'

he did not directly apologise to the people of Iraq
apologising to Jordon is not, in my opinion
the same thing
