I'm listening to her on some NPR talkshow/call-in show.
Shes pretty good. One of the best voices out there for the Palestinian cause. Reasonable, logical, yet still with righteousness against injustice without rage or anger.
This is the person the Israelis need to assassinate as shes really a credible voice, the kind of person who could be leader for the Palestinians.

4. well, it was intended as a kudo. |
|
i recall reading that the Irsaelis want to "decapitate" the Pal leadership, so , given Ashwari's credibility and leadership potential, this would be a good target for them.

3. I've Always Repsected Her...She's In A Tight Spot |
|
She's had to face a hostile American media for years as the virtual lone Palestinian spokesperson and presented a reasoned and sincere voice. Sadly, in recent years she's been shoved aside as radicals on both sides have made moderation a sin. She's a casualty of the "roadmap to peace...or is that pieces".

5. She recognizes this as a leadership problem... |
|
...saying the leadership is all in survivor mode, and are acting in their personal self interest.
Very astute comments on this show. I am going to have to read more by her and on her.

7. Welcome To 2004...The Age Of Self-Interest |
|
We've got a regime in our White House who is strictly self-interest, but the situation in Israel is far more volitile.
I'd like to hear what she has to say. Did she mention any people who could step forward on either side and restart some form of dialogue?
Hanan was a real trailblazer...one of the first Arabic women who became a spokesperson. I haven't always agreed with her, but respect the hard road she's had to travel.

6. I understand what you tried to say, but suggest you do a edit... |

that comment could be very easily misconstrued by many who peruse this site, if you know what I mean?
I agree that she's a very good spokeswoman...
