I caught that piece myself. I turned the television off while it was on. I'm not the biggest fan of Kerry, but it has become totally obvious that television is no longer reporting news, hasn't been for decades in my view. They skew for a purpose.
All of these negative revelations about Bush and all of his cabal have knocked his numbers down. Their version of "fair" is that they have to come up with something, however lame, to push Kerry's numbers down. I believe it has more to do with the more accomodating policies of Republcians toward media-consolodation as well as the very rich people running these shows mostly want to keep getting their tax-cut loans from our tax-coffers. But another reason they do it is because keeping the race close makes for more interesting presidential races. Look at the last one, they managed an almost totally even election. I wish I could credit our population with being smart enough to make up their own minds, but I can't. I saw what happened when millions of Democratic voters, when they let themselves be steered away from Dean, toward Kerry, who was the best "candidate" who had "served our country." One might question why none of this came out during the campaign? It is clear that they wanted the candidate with the most history, as 200 million is a lot to spend, and they needed plenty of ammunition to be able to knock him off. Kerry might not scream at a rally in public, they might not be able to find something to play a couple of thousand times like Dean did, being so seasoned at this point.
The media is totally now a "Ministry of Propaganda" in all ways. They do nothing, no reporting for common man issues, hell, they don't even want dead-soldiers to receive any credit or mention on their stations. Look at the Sinclair thing. They don't want Miramax to talk bad about their boy-Bush. But if a guy has millions, or a immediately promising career, then sure, cover the front pages for weeks about it.
The skinny for me is this. I save a lot of money on electricity by not watching television these days, as my disgust for what they are doing to the minds of the people of this country is on the rise.
