We've got through over 20 pages of stuff since yesterday?
I went to follow a link to an article posted at 02:10 Thurs 06-May-04
(my timezone) and found that it was archived?

No wonder I miss out on some of the really important stuff these days:
the forum is being filled up with pages of shit about TV shows, the same
dozen Iraqi torture photos and a bunch of conversational threads.

There is no need to be a visible disruptor if you can keep firing up
new posts so many times in a day that the turnover buries things before
they can be seen by anyone who isn't logged on and refreshing 24x7 ...

I'm just glad I saw (and kicked) the LBN thread about the FAA supervisor
who deliberately destroyed the only copy of the audio recordings from
Air Traffic Control on 9-11 or that would have probably been lost over
the weekend ...

1. Today's Mpls. Star Tribune...
has an article from Associated Press titled, "Tape of 9/11 air controllers' accounts was destroyed."

As usual, DU is just a bit ahead of the mainstream news. I don't think we've heard the last of this story.

2. I was wondering about that too - were the admins. asleep at the wheel?
I couldn't keep up. Would anyone who knows please explain? Were we being Freeped or what?

Anyway, thanks for re-posting. No telling what else important got overlooked or archived.

4. I'd like to see the "Lounge" threads completely separate
from the "Latest" boards. The "Lounge" stuff seems to be pop culture oriented, and written by kids. I'm all for keeping it around, sometimes it's wickedly funny stuff and right on point. However, I'd dearly love to see it separated from the more serious forums since it tends to knock things that need to be seen so far down the list so quickly that they disappear.

Keep the Lounge. Just keep it away from the current events forums.
