Did Rummy say the US is going to pay restitution to the Iraqis?
I think he said the US was going to pay restitution to the Iraqis. Isn't this a little early? I thought we have to officially lose this naked war of aggression before we start paying restitution? Maybe I am wrong here? Oh, and by the way I think these videos that are about to be released of our soldiers and Iraqi prisoners will bring this event past the frat house comparisons too. I think we had better prepare ourselves for the worst.

the heinously extreme mismanagement of the military will be costing us and our kids for generations to come. Ughhhhhh.

What is the cost of one's human dignity. These individuals rarely appear naked in front of their families. Fundamentally, we've lost it. In the words of the very wise Riverbend. . ."just go."

3. Money won't fix this
Money will not fix this problem - which, IMHO is a systemic attempt to demoralize and dehumanize the Iraqi population. Make them cower low enough that they will be too afraid to rise up in rebellion. Throwing money at the victims will not make this go away. It is not good enough.

A war crimes tribunal by Iraq against these perpetrators would at least give credibility to the claim that these people will face justice. Isn't that what Saddam is supposed to be facing? So, too should the US military. AND especially, so too should the mercenaries hired to do these despicable things.
