..to a lot of the Iraqis, a history that predates the current round of torture.
I say let them decide. If they want it torn down, then we should help them do it.
Then we should leave.

It could send a powerful message to the Iraqis that neither Saddam will ever use it again to torture his people, and also that the Americans are trying to do what's right, and that could possibly be a first step towards some reconcilliation.
Publicly court-martialing those troops that committed those crimes would help immensely, too.
