Putin is scary
Edited on Sat May-08-04 04:57 AM by RummyTheDummy
General Observation: I was watching the replay of his coronation and it just struck me what an odd bird he is. I firmly believe he's probably had people killed, both when he was a KGB agent and now.

Russia is weird in general right now. It's sort of a democracy, yet not really. Anyway the ceremony was bizarre. Of course Bush said he could see into his "soul".

4. Yes, but...
apart from being ex-KGB, Kerry has killed people too. Does that make him a lunatic?

6. Yes
Both killed for a reason. But killing is never neccessary. So both killed for nothing other than to satisfy the demands of others.

Which strikes me as a little odd.

5. No wonder Putin & * hit it off so well when they first met ("I looked into
his eyes and was able to glimpse into his soul.") They were "soul" brothers. (Pun intended). They come from the same background and have the same job doing the same thing. It's a good thing that * wants to go it alone. Pairing up with Putin would doom the world.

9. Putin and Chechnya
I take the Russian view on this issue. Russia's been the target for Islamic extremists since the Soviet days. Iran actively funds and supplies Islamists in Chechnya. Unfortunately, the Russian leadership under Yeltsin didn't learn their lesson from Afghanistan and went in with trying to fight a conventional war. If Russia doesn't keep an active hand in Chechnya, they'll be subjected to more bombings and violence than they already are.
