and yes, if it's 2 wars then it can't be the all encompassing "war on terror" ..which implies it's all one war..not separate wars

He's in on the whole thing and has been since the 1980s. Don't be fooled, read Craig Unger's House of Bush, House of Saud. He's guilty as sin. He is a fucking war criminal of the worst sort, lower than snake shit. Don't be fooled by the good cop, bad cop routine between him and Rummy or him and Cheney. And don't be snookered by Woodward's portrayal either. Colin is as much of a bad seed as the rest of them ...

|
How many generals did he fire before getting the ones he liked?
That's gotta be the stupidest thing I've heard yet from a Republican in this affair. So we have a leader who is failing miserably at his job, and they want to keep him because you don't fire failures during failing wars?
That's the ultimate sense of entitlement. No wonder things always fall apart under Republicans. They don't even believe they should be required to do good jobs.

If anyone else with a regular job screwed up like this, they'd be gone. But a serious, killing war, and we have to keep the fuckup because it's wartime? I say we should have gotten rid of him sooner rather than later. And like Lincoln, go thru as many as you need to to get a competent person.

They have the same jobs, similar backgrounds. I imagine they have a lot in common, except the political ideology. Besides, watch Matlin. She's not as convinced as Carville is. Carville's a true believer, but Matlin says what she's supposed to without nearly as much conviction.

I know a couple like them, where the wife is a Democratic strategist and the husband is a Republican activist. They do well as a couple, they just don't breathe a word about politics.
I guess since it is their job, they can leave it at the office, even if their job is based on deep-seated beliefs. They are probably both burned out on politics when they get home, and maybe that in itself draws them together, since both wants someone who can understand that they have to get away from their jobs for a while.

The cakewalk is over. They fraudulently misrepresented the threat. Underestimated the "enemy." Now, they are losing the conflict.
This is a situation of winning the tactical engagements and losing strategically as the Army is reporting off the record. However, the strategic blunder of commiting the lion share of American combat power to an unjustified invasion was something discussed here at DU before the "victorious" invasion even began.
Did we win in Fallujah?

He is in charge of this mess, and seems to be making the decisions on how wto proceed. It doesn't look like either Afghan or Iraq will get better in the next 6 months.
Rummy should take the hit along with Shrub as Commander in Chief!
To fire Rummy now would just give Shrub an out to blame everything on Rummy and say things will be much better now.

|
Do they really conduct their own lives this way? I mean, is it just me and a few of my liberal buddies who think that if you make a serious mistake, you should realize it and correct it immediately to avoid any further, more serious damage?
Since when did it become fashionable to perpetuate one's mistakes? To keep fuck-ups in their jobs? To throw good money after bad? Do they really think we should do that? Do they really think its honorable and American to continue to be a fucking patsy?
If they really do feel this way, I want their names, addresses, and phone numbers, so I can make lots and lots of money off of them.
