Will Bush bring dishonor to WWII Memorial dedication?
The World War II Memorial will be dedicated on Saturday, May 29. According to the official web site, "Bush has been invited to receive the memorial on behalf of the nation".

I personally can't think of anyone more unworthy to dedicate this memorial than George W. Bush. The sight of an election thief and wartime deserter dedicating such a memorial is repulsive.

Should we encourage protests and other events to highlight the disgrace of letting Bush horn in on this event? Or should we remain silent out of respect for the veterans who served in WWII?

1. Why would a lying, coke snorting, drunken, AWOL, low intellect like
bush* be allowed to dedicate a memorial to the fallen soldiers of WWII? He's been a scheming, left brained amoral cretin all his life. And this is who they chose? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY??

3. Lets ask WW II Veterans how they feel...
Maybe if some WW II Veterans speak out that they are offended by Bush's presence then he won't show up...I think that WW II Veterans who fought and had comrades die fighting the Nazi's and freeing the prisoners from Concentration Camps are horrified to think what the world currently thinks of our Nation and our Armies.

I think massive protests in Washington DC some time soon are a great idea (as well as across our nation and the world). Perhaps the dedication is a good time? I don't know....like I said, we should ask WW II Veterans....heck, what if some of them were leading the protests? I just saw on 60 minutes a piece they did about a soldier from Vietnam that spoke out against the massacre of Mai Lai (sp?) There have to be WW II vets who are sickened by this administration and what its doing to the memory of fallen comrades who died in honor.

5. IM GOING TO THAT DEDICATION
It sickens me to think of Tipsy McDumbass talking that day, but what can i do. My dad was in the Marines on Corrigedor on December 7, so we all know what happened to him for the war. He fought in korea and in Vietnam, and is a hawk in this war, but wont vote for Tipsy because of all the cuts in vet benefits. That will be a big moment, i will be there and will know how the crowd reacts, but how will it be portrayed by the press.

7. Yes, it's not right for Bush to be there.
My dad has been so pleased that the monument is finally in place. He wants very much to visit. At 80, he and my Mom would not be able to deal with the crowds of the ceremony. My sisters and I want to help him go to DC at a different time, to meetup with those of his old B-17 crew who are still alive, as we did about 10 years ago.

Dad has always been a Republican. He has admitted that he won't be voting for Bush this year, although he doesn't like to talk about it. My own sensibilities over Bush are more intense (and verbal), as I understand how my father's loyalties have been betrayed, even if he doesn't totally believe it.

6. Who in hell invited him?
Why couldn't they have gotten a WW2 veteran to do it?

8. My Dad will be going even though
he is on oxygen part time. He hates Bush and will not cheer his presence there. But I don't know if his feelings are typical for WWII vets.
