Go to Bartcop to defend Bart and Pat Tillman |
|
Edited on Mon May-10-04 02:28 AM by rumguy
Bart ran a recent issue in which he criticized Ted Rall's recent cartoon. He didn't make a big deal out of it, he just said he thought the cartoon was wrong and off base.
Well it turns out he got a lot of e- mail defending Rall and deriding him as an "okie". Drop him a note and let him know that you are a Democrat and that you think it is lame to trash Tillman.
Some of you may disagree. So be it.

"I still haven't found one e-mail that recognizes the fact that Tillman gave up a life of luxury to die for his country. I'm not cherry picking these - every letter basically says, 'Screw that Tillman guy,' This is tough for me to take."
"Am I the only Democrat who thinks Arlington Cemetary is sacred ground?
Do all liberals think all dead soldiers got what they deserved?
What about the 'idiots' and 'saps' portrayed in Saving Private Ryan?"

1. Tillman is no Private Ryan.. |
|
..not on his best day, he wasn't. Only the most deluded or most violent thought going to war in Iraq or Afghanistan would help on the war on terror. Rall's cartoon was genius.

taking out the Taliban had nothing to do with al Qaeda. Even though they were providing aid to bin Laden. Even though the United States warned them in the late 90s that if bin Laden attacked again, and they didn't start co-operating, we'd have no choice but to invade.
Oh, that's right! It was all the evil CIA people that blew up the WTC, right? And I bet there was a missle rather than a plane that hit the Pentagon.
:eyes:
Rall's cartoon was hardly "genius" - it was random and uninspired. There's nothing I've seen about Tillman that would infer he was racist, and yet we are to believe that he joined the military solely to kill Arabs.

I know that isn't true, but how sad that it would ever appear to be the case. I can't help but get the same feeling some days. *Writing email*

That we even have to do this. Btw, why does Rall think Al Qaida was based in Pakistan?

6. Tillman went to Afghanistan long before Iraq became an issue.. |
|
So Rall's connection is based on total bullshit the same as when repukes try to connect Tillman's heroism with the Iraq invasion. Tillman enlisted to fight the Taliban and Al Qeada. Not Saddam Hussein. And he died fighting the Taliban and Al Qeada. Not Saddam Hussein.

7. Rall is just the Ann Coulter of the left |
|
He says ridiculous things to get all his loyal fans to buy his crap. No difference really between what he does and what Coulter does.
