1. The idiots
I work with point out no planes have flown into buildings since Bush took control of the country.

This statement is the answer I get when I point out what a great job Bush has done with the economy, the country's standing in the world, the war on terrorism, and the war on Iraq. One asshole actually said it again today when the subject of the prisoner abuse scandal was brought up.

A report like this only reinforces the beliefs of these idiots.

Another co-worker said, it doesn't matter what you say, how truthful or eloquent the words are. You can't change a person's mind when it's been made up for them.

2. No you can't
Much like Shrub has no interest or curiousity about anything, he just makes up his mind and rolls with it, I find all too many just make up their minds and do the same. Regardless of facts or not.

5. Why let the facts
get in the way of a good conversation. It used to be you could have a conversation with someone, make a point, and move them from a subject.

Most of the bushies I know are parrots and spout only 2 or 3 statements. In addition to my earlier statement, I often hear - It's fashionable to hate republicans, don't you feel bad for the 3,000 who died on 9/11, didn't bush send you a nice check last year for having kids.

Also, I find most bushies are religious nut jobs. One guy here at the office is a minister at some bible-thumping church. He won't even tell us the name of the group where he teaches - that's how far out it likely is.

Someday, we'll look back on this and try to figure out what the hell we were thinking when we let this happen.

4. "since Bush took control of the country"
ask them what he was doing before and even during that time (of planes being flown into buildings)?

I know what you're saying and I've decided not to continue to waste my breath with the Flavor Aid Brigade.

6. They don't....
recognize bush was in office prior to 9/11. Everything up until then was Clinton's fault.

What's really fun is to ask if Clinton had such shitty policies regarding terrorism - why did the administration keep them in place until shortly after the attack? The looks on their faces are precious.

11. Actually,
I hate it here.

Every day we sit and type about what an idiot Bush is and how he's screwing the country to serve his goals.

Our presumptive candidate appears to be allowing Bush to dictate the issues and direction of this campaign. Bush continues to hand Kerry enough ammunition to win the election and we hear very little from Kerry. I can't help bu think we're going to get another 4 years of this shit.

At least I can vent without someone telling me I'm nuts.

Thanks for the welcome though.

10. Not to mention...
Yes, and be sure to remind them that the policies they implemented AFTER 9/11 were primarily developed during Clinton's admin as well, by Richard Clarke, and had been presented to the incoming Bush admin in January 2001 (8 months before 9/11).

As Richard Clarke has requested, ask your Congresspersons and Senators to press for declassifying both documents, Clarke's original report and the version signed-off on September 4, 2001.

9. Uh...you might want to inform the idiots...
the Bush WAS theoretically in charge on 9-11...you know, the ONLY time in our countries history that terrorists ever flew planes into buildings.

Sheesh.

13. It does no good to bring such trivial things up.
9/11 was Clinton's fault. He gutted the country's military, signed no meaningful anti-terrorism legislation, and allowed OBL to go unpunished.

Bush is above reproach and anyone who accuses him of failure is against those who lost their lives on 9/11.

These aren't my words, and when I hear these guys talk I think about strangling them for being so fucking stupid. I'm not sure how I haven't done it already.

7. how do you define "international terrorism"?????
let's hear the definition of terrorism, of course there is a def. for terrorism that is fairly accurate, we just can not use it because "the guns will be pointing the wrong direction."

15. there has never EVER BEEN a RASH of terrorism directed against
the USA actually.

Think about it.

There have been 2 attacks by foreign terrorists on the USA in 230 years.

Not exactly shark attacks.

17. Funny how they don't include attacks against us in "the war on terror"
Or mention that anti-US attacks are up (again, not including any attacks against our military)
