Et Tu, George Will
"The first axiom is: When there is no penalty for failure, failures proliferate." ...., "Failures are multiplying because of choices for which no one seems accountable. "

"Finally, the second axiom. It is from Charles de Gaulle: The graveyards are full of indispensable men. "

I do believe he says Rummy must go.

Is the tide really turning? Have the powerbrokers put out the word?

1. Yes, he thinks Rummy should go
He made this pretty clear Sunday on This Week. I was surprised to see that George Will had dropped his usual superior, smarmy attitude. He actually looked sort of sad and shell shocked about the whole thing.

2. Rummy was going to leave in November anyway...
I had heard. Who was going to replace him then. He is dispensable.

3. I Will Be Sad To See Rumsfeld Go...
because he is the out front representation of the failed Iraq policy of the Main Idiot of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Keep him on as a reminder of how not to run the Department of Defense, how not to wage a war in the Middle East, and how not to win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi population.

4. Will wandered off the reservation a couple weeks ago
With a brilliant column about Bush's racist "white man's burden" remarks on Iraq democracy. In general, he finally conceded that Bush is dumber than dirt:

"This administration cannot be trusted to govern if it cannot be counted on to think and, having thought, to have second thoughts."
