Responsibility examples
You work for a company. You find out your boss is embezzling money from the company so you tell his boss about it. He, in turn, tells the CEO of the company that he suspects lower boss is a crook. No one does anything about it until some employees find out they're being stiffed on their paychecks. Until the CEO sees that there are bogus paychecks being printed out, there's no outrage. CEO does not fire the boss who was over the mid-level boss and tells him he's doing a great job. Good CEO?

You're a parent. Your child tells you that every day he is hit on the head with a big stick. You tell the teacher.. who does nothing and says your child is exaggerating. Kiddo keeps complaining and one day has to be taken to the hospital. You find out that the teacher had talked to the principal about this some months before. Is the principal responsible overall for the safety and health of all the students? Should the principal fire or in some severe way discipline the teacher? Or should he/she, after visiting your sick child in the hospital, tell the teacher he/she is superb?
