Is overall terrorism down?
I just heard from a freeper that terrorism is at its lowest level since 1969. This isn't the first time I've heard it. That can't be true, can it? With Madrid, all the suicide bombers in Israel?

3. Anti-US terrorism is up
It's also up in Asia. Everywhere else it is down.

This does not include any attacks on our military in Iraq or Afghanistan.

6. Someone posted a report yesterday or the day before.
I think it was either Human Rights Watch or Amnesty International, saying terrorism is UP. Sorry I can't remember the details, maybe someone else can?

Terrorism on rise since Iraq war, Martin says

MONTREAL -- Prime Minister Paul Martin said yesterday that global terrorism has increased, not declined, since the United States-led coalition toppled Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

9. Paul Martin Rocks
I think he is the right guy and that he will do great things as a
real politics politician and make canada number 1 in world economic
examples for non-american truely liberal open capitalist society.
When the running back (read: USA) fumbles, somebody's gotta pick
up the ball. (read: PM's Canada).

Dear Mr. Martin,

I would gladly work to support your government in any
capacity if you were to pay me fairly. I think whatever
goodwill canada engages in is in the best interests of all
human kind. The big "C" is the new dharma, along with
Britain and Australia. in that order.

You were once the head of the UN committee on globalization of finance and uplifiting poverty planetwide. I hold you to this
brief Mr. Martin. Canada must step forward and be counted now
that america has fallen.

Your humble servant,

-sweetheart

11. well i hope they do justice
to canada.

I don't prejudge canada like i do GWB, who is utterly predictable.

PM's canada is a civilized country worthy of serious respect, and
i am hoping those troops are there to **REALLY** bring justice to
haiti and an inverse to the ameircan habit of destabilization in
favour of planation owners.

The chinese/french/euro/anglo mix of the canadian large nation makes
it the ideological superpower of the future. In the west
the Swiss are the power to benchmark. Scotland, were it a separate
country, would be my number one of course, but as long as it is
in britain, i have to discount the UK one level below canada in
my mark of outstanding nation states.

1. Canada
2. UK
3. Australia
4. Switzerland
5. South Africa

The future is a successful multicultural non-racist

12. Hard To Do Justice
When one takes over a democracy by criminals.

Your enthusiasm is great but politics is politics.

Wouldn't give credit where credit is not due.

13. sunshine policy
These men *are* the leaders i'm trusting to temper GWB on the
world stage at this very moment in time. Credit is due now and
that is the regard in which i mean it. My heart flies on his flavour
of neoliberal ambition and not that of washtington, despite my life
and passport.

PM has potential as a very outstandingly educated and wise statesman
to do great things for this whole planet over, no shit indeed, and i've EXTREMELY high expectations of him in this current time of GWB
leadership vacuum of liberal democracy. I see a brilliant leader
who legallizes cannabis and changes a world long term policy of
stupid drugs wars in favour of treatment and decriminalization...
someone who would offer a non-crony way to access global financial
markets to the world. Paul martin is god until proven otherwise.
He must wake up to the fact that he has been cut a gazillion miles
of slack, to be a great man, a profound enlightened politician
of the trendsetting democratic liberalism of this next cycle.
Tony has blown it, and switz is too right.

Canada has the vibe... new zealand is cool, but too tiny and
monocultural in the strategic sense. Finland also, good for a
monoculture, but no example. Belgium for multiculture and for
its failure as well. Denmark fails with its right wingism and
its alliance on the WOD. Switzerland for legallizing pot and
having an outstandingly preserved natural climate even today
with civilized democratic peaceful educated wealthy multiculture
pretty much a *10*.

Sorry for being a rambler... just a braindump.

14. Don't Have
The same admiration, but I could be wrong.
He is a good technocrat. He was given all the slack in cabinet.
However, he has taken a party that was way ahead in the polls and is now competing with the neo-cons for the leadership.
He gutted his party. Now he wants a majority without a platform, maybe some promises, but people tend to tire of broken promises. There are very few left to listen to HIS promises.

8. It closed up at 16220 with major gains today in
the minds of anyone who's had any contact with american government
actions or corporate media, or british poodles as well.

I love love the ironic propaganda of your statement and see it as
a jouralistic poem to the power of reprogrammed doublespeak.

Lets create a definition. Terror is the number of people in
any given year who have just cause to fear death from preventable
causes. The US is both the greatest terrorist, and the greatest
manmade organizational possibility to oppose terrorism by disease
erradication and disarmament were the US to become christian again.

Terror is the state prison monoculture of american disinvestment
and social erosion paying the cost of having the army abroad in
illegal wars. Terror is the bad dreams of our chidren who pay for
the ugly filth of george bush's crimes.
