Freepers are running a Freep campaign against CBS right now
They are mad that CBS will not show the whole Berg video and are swamping the news line with calls saying it is all CBS's fault Berg got killed because CBS kept airing the torture pictures.

The thread has also mentioned that a right wing talk show is telling their listeners to swamp CBS with calls also.

3. Screw them if they can't see the difference.
CBS doesn't care about those nut-jobs. I don't think a brutal, awful beheading video will play well in Peoria.

4. CBS will give in
By capitulating on the Reagan mini-series and the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake thing they have showed the right-wing that their network can be bullied into submission if the Right pisses and moans enough.

Of course, I wonder if these were the same people who pissed and moaned about Janet's boob on TV. Now they want to see a live execution? :eyes:

7. The Passion, the only R rated movie...
.. in the top 20 of the All Time Moneymaker list.

Just proves the point that VIOLENCE is good for kiddies.

11. Well, sure.
Violence, especially violence inflicted on the innocent, is as American as apple pie. Ask a Native American. Ask a civil rights Freedom Rider.

Naked boobs, however, should be glimpsed furtively, and with great guilt. Except for the naked boob in the Oval Office.

18. Network TV and naked boobs
You have heard that whichever network gets the rights to broadcast The Passion is already being pressured to NOT CUT any of the violent scenes?

and speaking of naked boobs has Ashcroft ever removed the draperies hiding the figure in the rotunda from which he often speaks?

8. I think some stills from the video would be quite enough
and I doubt that even the freepers would have thought it would be all right to show Irai prisoners being beheaded.

9. I don't know if it will help but I am going to email CBS the freeper link
Who remembers when MSNBC did a poll a few months back and called the freepers out, link and all for tampering with the poll and skewing the results?

Maybe CBS will then understand.

I was thinking the same thing. It's a good idea. Wouldn't it be loverly if they did a story . . . on 60 Minutes, perhaps?

10. This leads me to wonder:
Edited on Tue May-11-04 06:09 PM by SeveneightyWhoa
Was Janet Jackson's breast-baring incident somehow an anti-Bush statement in a way that we didn't realize?

Because when ABC showed the prisoner abuse photos, freepers got mad (because it hurt Bush).

When CBS DOESN'T show the full, gruesome video of Berg's murder, freepers got mad (because showing it would HELP Bush).

So I've concluded that the uproar over Janet's titty was nothing more than a method to help Bush. But how? Am I crazy here, people?

14. Of course the J Jackson brouhaha was to help Bush
It was supposed to show the utter decadence of our country and why we need a good, Christian President with strong family values. It was also a good excuse for the FCC to crack down on anyone they wanted, like Howard Stern.

15. I am more convinced than ever that most freepers have a mental problem
Edited on Tue May-11-04 06:18 PM by Mountainman
They can only see things through the paradigm of themselves winning or losing the political battle. Anything is justified if they think it helps their cause.

They are truly a bunch of sick bastards. But I must also ad that not all of them what the thing on TV.

On edit: How much you want to bet that if a freeper could get a hold of Janet's boop picture they would love it as long and no other freeper knew about it and they could still bitch and moan about our decadant society.

16. How exactly would showing the whole Berg video help Bush again?
Edited on Tue May-11-04 06:25 PM by Philosophy
Do they think that viewing it will make all Americans turn as bloodthirsty as they are for revenge and finally allow Bush to unleash his real planned holy crusade of total anihilation upon the entire evil Muslim world?

I don't really get it.

...am I to understand that the Freepers are now advocating that "Islamic extremists and terrorists" be given free air time on US media? Wow, they've TOTALLY jumped the shark in their blind dumbass loyalty to the Shrubster.

26. These sad, sorry people live in a world of grade-school moralism...
Something along the lines of "Well, what they did was WORSE, so what we did isn't all that bad!"

Freepers, try to shake yourselves from your collective black-and-white existence and realize that the country that we grew up in, United States of America, should not torture anybody! Americans are better than that, and should know better, and should act better. They should know proper behavior, and admit to making mistakes, and then do what's necessary to correct those mistakes.

Are these startling and sickening images illustrative of the "freedom" that Bush wants to bring to Iraq? Is this the "peace" that Bush wants to bring to the Middle East -- utterly enraging every Muslim on the planet?

Bush isn't a nation builder, he's a nation destroyer. He's ruined the U.S. from within, and his attempts to "build" a "free" Iraq are nothing more than ignorant, pitiful and hateful.
