Unfortunately, there is a substantial number of people in this nation, and a few on this board, who desire nothing short of governmental confiscation of all firearms.

We can't let that happen, and if we are complacent, confiscation is exactly when they will get. Hence, we must be vigiliant.

but I do own a .22 rifle, a Daisy. I can't imagine not having a gun. I've never lived in a house without guns in it. But I wouldn't mind registering it. After all, what else does "well-regulated militia" mean? P.S. - I'm sorry about your bad mood. I'm sure tomorrow will be better for you. :-)

4. I'm sorry, no one needs to own an assault rifle

If I feel unfortable with my neighbor owning a gun that could wipe out the school across the street, I am sorry. Because that's all an assault rifle is good for.
