Marvin Kalb News Night. Press gave Bush a big break! |
|
I was sooo happy to hear someone from the media say "the press gave the adm9inistration a big break after 911. They just didn't think it was right to criticize after that.
Marvin said the public wants to know everything and they deserve that.
He even said they are still giving the administration a break and it should stop.

1. Odd thing happened during that interview. |
|
I'm hearing imparied and watch CC. When he was talking about how the story got out the sound cut out completely but with CC I could still read what he said. Without sound, I read 'There are some stories that will never get out.'

5. About time... They should replace Bush with Peter Arnett |
|
I caught the last part of it, and was duly impressed.

6. Most of the time NEW presidents get a break. |
|
I think it's called "the honeymoon period". I hate it because I don't think they ever gave that to Clinton, but I can accept the honeymoon time.
I'm just glad to hear a member of the media admiting this now, and demanding that it change.

8. Good link, but not early in Presidency. |
|
Yes, there are some members of the media who have broken through the wall, but now there seems to be more and more each day.
That's all I want from the media....publish the stories!

I hope the media feels some shame, but I doubt it. Their corporate masters don't pay them for integrity...they get bigger bucks for perpetuating Bush myths.

12. Bush got a break when he was CAMPAIGNING! |
|
Even before he became president, the media gave him ALOT of free air time, following him from place to place. They introduced us to the governor of Texas, did his bio over and over again, interviewed "the man on the street" in Texas, and repeatedly told us what a great job he was doing fundraising. I'll never forget it. I wonder if Kerry has been "quiet" lately because he can't get on the air?
