1. No. I just think at this particular point in history
you all have some pretty poor role models in the public eye and it concerns ...not your fault.

4. would that be shaming the status quo?
white heterosexuals males control most of congress, business, and the media. I wouldnt imagine they'd be ashamed.

7. And why should they be?
You should only be ashamed for what you have made of yourself, never for what you are.

Even the...I personally believe you should never be ashamed of what you have made of yourself.

6. wtf
I fit the description but I'm not ashamed of being a white male. I suppose some extremists would want others to feel differently, it's that whole guilt complex bs argument they use. "You live in America so you are guilty for all the killings in Iraq" or the bad karma silliness
yea, whatever

Please excuse my rant

8. Being ashamed of the way you were born is like being
Edited on Tue May-11-04 11:45 PM by Ohio Dem
proud of the way you were born. Neither one of them makes much sense to me. It's not like you were given any options. It's what you do that counts.

So, no. I'm not "ashamed" of being a white heterosexual male. I am, however, ashamed of the actions of some other white heterosexual males. Or rather and more accurate, I think some other white heterosexual males should be ashamed of their own actions.

BTW, I'm not ashamed of being a human here on Earth, either. I'm not even ashamed of being a mammal. Or a primate.

The more I think about it, the less sense your question makes to me.

On edit: I just saw that your sarcasm hat is firmly on (on your edit). Sorry to reply so harshly. When I first saw your poll, I assumed sarcasm, but didn't see any indication in your post. I should have kept on assuming sarcasm, but these are strange times in which we live, my friend.

9. That's just stupid
Look I'm not a white male (I am a hetero though) and I say it's bullshit to be ashamed of what you were born.

Be ashamed of what you do that is wrong not what you were born of.

10. Who you are...
...is vastly more important than what you are.

If all you are is what you are than you are not much.

14. WHAT?
What are you trying to say? I think you need to clarify your position a little bit because right now you're coming off as someone who would advocate killing off a newborn on the basis of their origins of birth.

13. Sorry!

I posted this as a "bad joke". I was trying to be sarcastic in reference to the other "shameful" poll that is on the board tonight.
I am all of the above & not ashamed of it, just as I wouldn't be ashamed if I were born homosexual. I should have been more carefull with my wording, and I apologize to those who I've offended.

:dunce:

Edited on Wed May-12-04 12:24 AM by DarkPhenyx
...bake and build a house. It has absolutely nothing to do with being salvageable.

You insinuate we are in need of salvaging. I would therefore, insinuate, that people thinking that way are in serious need of therapy. Long, intensive, electro-shock therapy.

18. Not ashamed, but slightly afraid
after all, we are an endangered minority species, the WHM hunting season lasts all year, and seems like every one wants a piece.

WHM are an oppressed minority. I think we all need a hug :(
