Do Freepers embolden the enemy? Do Al Qa'eda care?
A freeper accused sites like DU of "emboldening Al Qa'eda". I doubt that OBL is sat in a cave reading DU.

I imagine OBL would be emboldened by freeper views. I know they piss me off! What do you reckon?

1. I bet both sides embolden them, but in different ways
Ultimately, however, they probably take a look at our differing boards together and see the gigantic schism between us, and laugh. I believe the saying goes, "Divide and Conquer".

3. It amazes me
That when the Left is critical of the Right, We somehow are emboldening Al Qeada. Perhaps if the right didn't pursue policies that piss off the rest of the world, the Left wouldn't need to do so.

It is analogous to a Criminal blaming the person calling 911 in response to their crimes for wasting police resources.

4. It's just a lame-assed talking point.
An extension of the Imhofe rant, nothing more. Those people need nothing of us. They have more than enough in the way of impetus, on their own.

I suspect that many of them, like our fundies over here, consider the computer and the Internet the tool of Satan, especially since one of the inescapable effects of the Internet is free information and free information is the precursor to Reason. Reason is their natural enemy, for any Fundy.

5. About us? No, they don't care.
I'm sure we have no impact whatsoever on what Al Qa'eda does.

Israel, military in Saudi Arabia, and war in Iraq, these are their issues. Blood for oil is how they see the U.S.

They don't care about our fringe left wing at all.

6. I doubt Osama cares enough to tell the difference between DU and FR
Osama doesn't know or care about the distinction between a Republican and a Democrat, between Noam Chomsky and David Duke.

As far as Osama is concerned all Americans are equal: absolutely evil and better dead than alive. That's not exactly what I have in mind when extolling the virtues of democracy.
