After reading last week's New Yorker on the Iraqi treatment by our troops, two questions came to mind.
One: How many McVeigh's have been created from this war and what should we expect in the years to come from their experiences?
Two: If Bush ever wanted to call for martial law in the event of another attack (whether a terrorist attack or one concocted by his administration), how would the troops treat fellow Americans that decide to protest and are arrested en masse?
The same treatment used by our soldiers on the Iraqi prisoners could easily be seen as "just following orders" on our soil if given the "proper fear environment".
I think a lot of the troops who treated the Iraqi prisoners so badly probably also believe (like 72% of Fox News viewers) that Iraqis were responsible for 911. So hence we see their willing anger and culpability at "following orders".
Imagine someone like Bush pulling out the "we need to protect American from these un-American protestors" after declaring martial law.
Maybe this shit in Iraq in on-the-job training for some future martial law "re-education camps".
