Brian Lamb talks about "elite media"
Reich Wing Friday on C-span right now (7:30eastern)
I know that many like Lamb and thank him for creating c-span.
However, never forget that he is a reich-winger.
Occasionally, that inadvertenly comes through.
Example: this morning when he asked a dem caller..."so, you're saying that the ELITE MEDIA isn't biased against George Bush"....

Geez...the ELITE MEDIA....who is that exactly? I wish they would define it and name names that are aggressively hounding Bush.

1. If you insert the missing word, it becomes very clear.
The word is Corporate.

As in, the Corporate Elite Media.

Kill your TV before it kills you.

3. elite media = ABC/CBS/NBC
I think they are referring to the big three who basically had a monopoly on things before cable news...they controlled what people heard and what they didn't hear...I don't know why the term "elite" is used though. It generally means superior...but they are using it in a negative way, as in "cocky, disconnected", etc

6. They leave out Fox/Clear Channel
and all of the corporate elite media that are not just overtly conservative....but, stifenly so....and, if they are painting NBC as a liberal outlet, they are crazy....do you watch the barbie and ken doll bush loving anchors on MSNBC,,aka, MSGOP...they are just the same as the Faux folks....CNBC just as bad.
Are these not Elite?
Are they not Corporate?
My point is that yes, the new phrase du jour "elite media" is a right wing talking point.
You hear it on every right wing talk show.
It just saddens me that Brian Lamb has bought into it also.
I always knew he was conservative. However, I have always hoped that he didn't buy all of the lock-step speak. Sigh.

4. Lamb referenced both
Podhertz and Goldberg this morning. Now, that's creepy. Apparently the liberal media is reporting the facts, gasp, about Iraq. And that's not fair because Bill Clinton had sex with an intern and Ted Kennedy was in a car with a girl who drowned. Yes, that's the gist of both men's columns. And Brian felt they were newsworthy enough to reference. But it's the liberal media who's biased.
Oh, don't mind me. I'm female and as one freeper caller adamantly told us: women are stupid and shouldn't be allowed to vote. Plus, we like abuse.
The freeper Kool-Aid seems to be laced with steroids these days. Beware the rage.

8. And Joe Scarborough had an affair with his congressional aide
She was found DEAD in his office.

He subsequently left politics, his wife and sons and morphed into a toxic talking bobble head.

The Reps thought he was a rising star in the party but had to settle for ensconcing him in the Liberal Media.

9. Brian Lamb is having "Nixon White House meltdown" flashbacks
Brian Lamb was a staffer in the Nixon White House. The torture photos must be triggering his Cambodia-Linebacker2-Watergate PTSD. He's having psycotic visions with Nixon's voice saying "I am not a crook coming out of Dumbya mouth while Dumbya is standing on the carrier in the pilot's outfit on the deck of that carrier.

7. That was Joe Scarborough message last night
Any doubt that C-SPAN is on the White House broadcast fax list?

Interestingly, I saw someone mention here that the 700 Club took off after the "corrupt UN" two evenigns ago. Last night on Joe Scarborough, the "corrupt UN".

I sure hope someone with a lot of students/graduate students at their beck and call is analyzing this. There is no question in my mind but that large parts of our media are effectively under direct government control.

While I don't have hard statistical evidence, I do enough evening cable channel surfing, with occasional dives into Limaugh and Hannity on the radio, to see a pretty clear pattern.

This isn't tin-foil hat stuff, and somehow we need to start analyzing transcripts of these shows and looking for a patter of pro-GOP stories that didn't originate with independent media, such as the L.A. or N.Y. Times or WaPost.
