I will still celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. If it were a holiday in support of Gingrich's "Contract for America" I'd certainly boycott but a celebration of the things which make America special is more of a statement against the tyranny.

Celebrate the Fourth by taking your friends and family (and, well, any other registered voters out there) to see Michael Moore's FAHRENHEIT 911 on its opening day!

I will NOT them steal my country. They've stolen the government, they've stolen the judiciary, and they've hijacked the constitution, but I'll be damned if I'll let them destroy my love for this country and its founding.
That would be letting them win. Never.

7. I celebrate 4th of July for what America CAN BE ONCE AGAIN. |
|
It's always been a pet peeve of mine- why are Democrats and/or liberals so reluctant to "wrap themselves in the flag?" Instead of fleeing from the symbol and allowing it to become representative of the ugliest, jingoistic tendencies of our nation, why not try to reframe the context?
It's the Republicans who have been anti-American. As far as I'm concerned, we should embrace the flag, the 4th of July, and all the classic symbols of American patriotism.
It's a little thing that means an awful lot to the undecided voter.
