Franken and Olberman are pretty smart guys....
I caught Jeopardy last night and they had a hell of a game. Franken won 15, 201 to 15, 200. The girl they played with got totally smoked.

I kick all of their asses though. :) I'm a machine.

4. It's all about the reaction time
She didn't hit the button fast enough. I don't doubt she knew the answers -- just didn't hit the button.

Russert, Smiley, and Whitman today were a sorry crew.

5. Reaction time and one other factor --
the length of the thumb.

A woman with small hands/short fingers is at a distinct physical disadvantage.

9. She had -1200
At one point. It was reaction time and she was stupid. Come on, she just was.

7. Olbermann's an Ivy League grad. . .
Edited on Fri May-14-04 06:18 PM by scmirage
Cornell--he graduated at 20. Don't know if he just managed to finish early or skipped a year of high school or something. Then again, Dubya "earned" degrees from Yale & Harvard:crazy:

10. Feel Inferior...Try The Contestant's Test
I love Jeopardy and it's so bad around here no one dares watch with me as I'll smoke their and most contestant's asses. It's great when you can yell the answers from your comfy chair.

A couple years ago, my wife helped arrange for me to take the contestant's test. This is the "cattle call" they do every so often in cities around the country...usually held at a hotel and includes a long written test. The one I took was in a ballroom with 1,000 of my other Jeopardy players. I hadn't seen such a complicated test since college. And that was just "level one". The top 25 or so scorers (and I wasn't close) went on to further rounds. Ever since, I've had a very healthy respect for those who make it on the show.

Franken & Olberman were great and Keith did a fun follow-up on Countdown. Even Bowtie Boy didn't seem so dweebish. What's next? Candy Crowley gets a Queer-Eye make-over?
