The question is real simple...Are you better off now than 4 years ago? |
|
Answer NO>>>

I'm sorry to hear that. You're certainly in good company.
Because I'm a contrarian -- imagine that! -- we've done pretty well with our investments. :)

8. 2%, maybe 3% of us are better off, but collectively we've been flushed |
|
down the proverbial toilet and as a nation, we are headed for, if not in, the sewer.

9. I don't know if it's that simple... |

There are varying reasons why someone could be worse off now than 4 years ago. The question is, if you are worse off, do you think the current administration is responsible. In 1936, many americans were worse off (if not, at least not any better off) than they were in 1932, but people saw FDR as making an effort, and thankfully reelected him. If the same question is asked now, I don't think * will fare so well.

My family is financially better off, no thanks to Shrub. The rest of our lives - schools, environment, security, etc. are substantially worse.

and no thanks to Shrub, we are better off financially. We have much higher incomes and two healthy kids who weren't around yet 4 years ago. :)
Politically... I am much angrier and more cynical than I was 4 years ago. It's just not due to any direct financial impact on my life.

17. Yes. Was unemployed for a lot of 2000-2001. Now I've got a job I love |
|
Had to leave town to do it, but, yes I am better off in that respect. In terms of my fear that the US is becoming a police state, I'm worse off. Didn't have Feds knocking on my door prior to 2001.
