Because of Abu Ghraib, America is (temporarily!) down and out and getting kicked in the head by every two-bit moralizing moron in the universe, while her thoughtful Euro-friends twist the knife by informing us that hundreds of dead American soldiers might just as well have stayed home; America's rule is no better than Saddam's. We need to hear from America's political leaders, loud and clear: "Yes, we abominate the Abu Ghraib crimes but will not accept your forgetting what America has paid to liberate Iraq, will not allow foreign nations to slander the United States, will not permit you to forget what we and the British have accomplished: a world without Saddam Hussein; a vastly safer, profoundly better world. And no one will be allowed to dishonor American soldiers and this nation by telling us 'you're just as bad as Saddam'; that lie will never go unchallenged."

We need to hear those things especially from Democrats. For the world to know that this nation is united, Democrats have to speak. They haven't. The message has not been delivered.


So BushCo now wants Democrats to pull his testes out of the fire and is telling us it is our responsibility to do so.

According to a Zogby Poll on 3/15/03, when asked if they knew that it would result in hundreds of US casualties, 46% supported the war and 47% opposed it.

This is Bush's War. He went in with the support of maybe 50% of the country and this is the result. That doesn't make it an American war, but a Republican led war.

Weekly Standard was the cheerleader in getting this war on. I recall how they ridiculed the anti-war movement back in 02 when we were warning that this would be another quagmire and that we would end up facilitating the creation of a pan-Islamic ME.

Next thing you know, the WS will be asking us to vote for Bush in Novemeber because h really should be king.

Of course, if the war had been prosecuted successfully, I have no doubt that Iran and Syria would be in the Pentagon planning stages for invasion and occupation as well.

Looks like PNAC's Pax Americana will end 98 years short of the goal. Amazing how such a small group of men could hi-jack US foreign policy and destroy our international reputation and the projection of US strength in 2 short years. Unbelievable.
