When was the last time you heard of a Sadaam supporter? |
|
I heard on Wolf today that the insurgents in Iraq were Sadaam supporters. Where does that come from? Everything I have heard, they are Suni or Shiia leaders trying to vie for prominence, or people who just want the foreigners out of their country.
I have yet to hear that ABYBODY still supports Sadaam!

1. Its the stupid Conservative world of black and white |
|
Because conservatives, by their very nature, can only think on the most simplistic terms and can not analyze information. So every issue has two sides BUT ONLY two sides.
You are either with Bush or you are with the terrorists.
People in Iraq either love Bush or they support Saddam.

2. Up until DS1, lots of Republicans supported Saddam. |
|
And that was after he used his chemical weapons...hell, we (the Republicans) rewarded him with more military aid.
That said, I wonder what the Iraqi's think? Are they happier with the CPA/US running their country and occupying it, then they would be with Saddam? I really don't know the answer, but I suspect the longer we occupy, the more relevant that question becomes.

4. Saddam's punishment was harsher, but occupation is bad too! |
|
I do think the punishment for rebellion under Saddam was horrific, and no human would want that, but occipation by a country whose culture is completely opposite isn't desireable either. I don't know how you find "leaders" in a country where you don't even understand the culture, but surely someone in the US does. I feel we need to find several leadrs in Iraq who want to be part of a new government. We need to help them to organized a campaign, print ballots, and schedule an election. Part of the agreement should be that when the election is decided, we leave! That would do more to further our approval in the Arab nations than any BS being promoted now.
I might add, aside from the kind of punishment, what's the diffrence between Saddam demanding his people support him, and Bushco demanding the same?
