American G.I.'s Crushing Iraqi Car Video
This probably already got posted... http://media.ebaumsworld.com/dontloot.wmv

Can anyone tell me if this is policy or just some G.I.'s messing around... It looked like they were taking some wood.

1. Real good
That's real special. I'm CERTAIN this is not policy. That's just bullshit. It's got nothing to do with the wood either. Notice they crushed the wood as well. I hate stupid people.

5. Yeah
Good point.

I also thought it was rather bizarre they shot the car first Pulp Fiction style (then crushed it?)...

2. Who's orders allow this kind of action to happen?
...It's no wonder the U.S. Defense Department had a news blackout on the Iraq War!

3. that is goddamn disgusting...
notice how seriously they enforce the "dont loot wood" law, but the "don't sell utilities to private investors" law gets re-written immediately after invasion

:grr:

7. Who's looting who?
Funny how I see this kind of behavior almost every day. Not in Iraq, but here. In America. Living in the country, I see the results on Sunday mornings, typically. A car, a mobile home that was left over night on a deadend road. The result being bullet ridden, and eventually completely destroyed. And then there are the multitudes of hidden garbage dumps. I have pictures I've taken from my endless travels through redneckland. Hillsides strewn with years of garbage dumping. I hear chimpanzees can make a big mess. I say humans can do just the same. I praise those who rise above the lowest common denominator of human carelessness and cruelty.

8. This can't be policy
And the tank commander will probably be standing tall before the man when they ID his vehicle from the numbers painted on it.

15. Here is the story

American militaries stopped a small white car loaded with some old wood for burning. They where accused of "luting" in a very rude way, by a young soldier with a nasty attitude!
Then a tank rolled over this car two times and totally flattened it!
Then you hear a reporter saying, he got told by the Iraqi, that he was a taxi-driver and that was his livelihood!
Very sad, when you think what else beside all these major horror things happen in "little "stories.

Why does the link from yesterday not work anymore? Sombody knows?
