The TRUTH about tax cuts
This old saw about .."the Dems are gonna raise your taxes" is a load of CRAP..

Kerry needs to stand up to them and tell the truth..

It's NOT cutting taxes, when the federal govt BORROWS money and STEALS from Social Security in order to "pay a bribe" to a select segment of the population... It's a SCAM...

It needs to put it into terms that the average person can relate to... example:

Your husband/wife/significant other uses YOUR ATM to withdraw $1000..(they checked the balance and there was at least $1000.00)..

They GIVE that money to their friend so that he/she will do them a favor at a future date, and think that they are a really swell person..... Meanwhile, you have written checks, thinking that you had that money in the bank...you know, for stuff like rent, utility bills, car payments..

What's the bank going to do when those checks hit the bank???
"Follow the bouncing checks" ...all over town....

So now you have returned check charges to pay, you do not have the money to pay the actual bills that are due and you are assessed late charges out the "ying-yang"...

......

and another thing about taxes.. TAXES ARE NOT A BAD THING !!!!

You like driving on decent roads???
You like being "dysentery-free" from your water supply??
You like being able to have access to student loans and grants??
You like knowing that the child that sits next to YOURS has had his/her innoculations???
You like the feeling that your airplane ride will be safe ???
You like the idea of collecting a social security check when you are old??
You like the fact that the poorest in your community might be able to sleep indoors?? That they might not feel compelled to ROB YOUR house because they are so desperate??
You like knowing that the fire department will actually show up if you have an emergency??
You like the fact that a policeman will come to your aid if you are ever in trouble??
You like the fact that your kids have a school to go to every day??
You like the fact that the air you breathe is being monitored for the really ugly stuff?
You think our military will operate on nothing??
You like the fact that there is a safety net for YOU or your Granny, should you ever need it??

These are all things that get CUT when the federal govt yanks the rug out from under the states and communities.. The Feds come off as "generous" but that piddly little $5.77 a week extra in your paycheck is a pretty piss-poor trade off for the services that you will lose at the local level..

Republicans go all "splashy" on TV with their mangificent tax CUTS, but for every tax cut they "give" you on the federal level, YOUR costs GO up way more than what you gain ...at the local level.. They think that these services that they all want and use, fall from the sky as a gift from allmightygawd....

And then there is the old old "pay me now or pay me later" scam.. Republicans especially love to do this little maneuver to states where they have lost power .. They love the "squeeze play".. They cut money to the state and then enjoy the show as the Democratic leaders "have" to raise taxes.. Then they go on TV again and holler "..See we told you..The Dems raised your taxes..The Dems raised your taxes".. This works because they know that most states are already stretched to the limits because of all the unfunded mandates that they have handed to the states, and they know that there is NO extra money..

It's all just an EVIL game that they play with us.. It's about time that someone exposed them .. and the sooner the better..

The "little people" are told that tax cuts are good for them..They hear the the "echo chamber" effect ad infinitum from SeanHannity/Rush/LarryElder/SavageWeinerman/ etc droning on for HOURS and HOURS , telling the "little people" out there about how OVERTAXED they are.. Of course they usually talk in terms of "average". Bush did this last fall, when he kept mentioning the "average" tax cut of $1300.00.. Have you gotten your $1300.00 check in the mail yet??The trouble with averages, is that it's deliberately vague.. If you are unemployed, and your neighbor makes 500K a year, that "must" mean that if there are only those two houses on the block, the average income is 250K. Don't waste your energy trekking to the mailbox to get YOUR check though..

Ordinary people are NOT overtaxed.... They are just UNDERPAID.. Politicians have missed the point completely.. Does anyone think that the "talking heads" will EVER start telling them that their big bosses are USING their labor to become super rich, and do not care a whit about them.. They will be laid off without a second thought to their wellbeing, and yet the "little folks" seem to be in their boss's corner on the tax issue.. They have actually been brainwashed to think that if their boss gets a HUGE taxcut, it will result in job security for THEM... In reality, it might result in a new "HummerMobile" for the boss's kid or a superdooper skiing vacation next winter..

Paying taxes is a badge of honor in a civilized society.. It shows that the people all have a bargain with each other and that they care about the well-being of the WHOLE community/State/Country...not just their greedy little selves..

There needs to be a start of some SERIOUS discussion of what's important in this country.. There will come a time when it is indeed TOO LATE..

It's like when someone gets a diagnosis of some vile disease.. Up until that very second that you hear the words, everything is still OKAY.. After that verdict, NOTHING is ever OKAY again..

As long as Kerry lets the spend-and-borrow-and-spend republicans have the last word on taxes, he and the democrats will keep being on the defensive.
