Randi Rhodes redeems herself: compared Armitage to Frankie Pentangeli
Edited on Tue May-18-04 02:49 PM by Richardo
From the Senate hearing scene in Godfather II:

"Michael corleone said THIS; Michael Corleone said THAT. So I says....SURE, why not?"

Any Godfather reference goes a long way with me... :D I've been largely disappointed with the overall quality of her discourse, but that bit had me LOL.

1. Speaking of Rummy, I just went into the kitchen to get a snack
and CNN was reporting "how frustrated Rummsfeld is that he is having to spend ALL of his time on the prisoner abuse scandal." Poor baby! He is blaming the "senate investigations" not congress in general.

What an asshole. :nopity:

3. She is savaging the corporate media now.

"We have no Fourth Estate. We can't tell the truth
on television."

4. I guess I'm not the only one comparing Bush ad. figures to The Godfather
Here's a link to my thread on the subject.

So, does Randi know which Godfather character Dick Cheney is? Genco, Tom Hagen or the Don himself?

5. "But what I did not know until today - was that it was Barzini all along"
I say Cheney = Barzini.

6. I like the way you think!
My choice was Cheney = Tessio. To me, Barzini is like Musharref or Bandar, an outsider bringing the family down while outwardly appearing friendly. Tessio tried to bring the Family down from the inside, but as Michael said, "It's the smart move. Tessio was always the smarter one".

9. Maybe she's an acquired taste - I was not a fan up until today...

I never heard her before AA went on the air, so I was not prepared for her sometimes overly shrill delivery, and yesterday's anti-French screed (which I still can't figure out) really turned me off.

But hey! The Pentangeli bit cracked me up; and I'm still listnening this afternoon.
