1. I like it. Sick and tired of those unAmerican Busheviks STEALING our flag
and patriotic lingo.

ESPECIALLY considering it is THEY who is angling to stifle the voices of at least half the populace, it is THEY who is aiming for UnAmerican One-Party Rule, it is THEY who shit on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, etc etc ETC!!!!!

I like it. It's about goddamned time we started taking back the English language from Bushevik-Orwellian Psycholinguists!

I might get one myself.

2. Oh gawd
I hate that slogan. Jingoism at its best. Dammit, what is wrong with Kerry's people?

7. That's from Buzzflash, not Kerry's campaign
Kerry's are just his name and have a different typeface.

22. Good, glad to hear it, but
I donated $50 six weeks ago and have yet to receive a bumpersticker of my own. I can't seem to get one, no matter what I do. So I still tend to say, "what is wrong with Kerry's people?"

24. There is a severe shortage of Kerry campaign stuff in GA
... at various events, people make the rounds asking others for extra stickers and buttons.

4. I don't like it either. It's completely inappropriate.
I think that slogan became very prominent after 9-11. I hope Kerry isn't exploiting that horrid day.

Of course, this is BuzzFlash's bumper sticker. Maybe they'll come up with something better ...

Please tell me JFK didn't REALLY steal the most tired-ass jingo-logo since "love it or leave it" for his own campaign!! No you didn't, John!

Jesus, what a stupid slogan. I used to see it on Clear Channel billboards all over Nashville. If they had followed it with a parenthetical "belch" and the word "duh," it woulda been perfect. And maybe the sound of a gun being cocked...or the sound of an open hand slapping a wife's face. This slogan conjures the worst possible aspects of redneckism, jingoism, and encrachinf fascism to me. Why didn't he just get Toby "fucking" Keith to write his fucking campaign song?

What a country...a nation of stampeding elephants, constantly needing to reassure ourselves that we're not scared of mice. Pathetic. "These colors don't run," my crotch.

Okay, on edit, it's Buzzflash's decision. It still sucks.

15. Man I guess I'm in the minority for liking this admittedly jingoistic
bumper sticker.

I sxuppose I'm lucky I didn't get flamed mercilessly for that comment.

If I may post my rationale, RK...

We need to take back the language, ESPECIALLY the jingos, and we'll worry about it later whetehr we're politically correct enough. The REASON we need to display bumperstickers like these, IMHO (at least those of us who like it and want to) is to challenege the Orwellian Lies that say we are unPatriotic and unAmerican.

Like it or not, the best way is to make people think by juxtaposing two contradictory (or in this case, that which is to be perceived as contradictory because of the Bushevik application of Goebbels v2.0 Popaganda Strategy) images and forcing people to think

Example as follows:

"Man how can an unPatriotic Kerry supporter have a "patriotic" jingo on their bumper."

or, as I have often heard from moderate Repugs "How can you be pro-gun and a Democrat?"

The answers to such questions are thought-provoking and help break the Orwellian Bushevik Spell a little, IMHO.

And every time we do that, no matter what the issue or comment or sticker or posting, we win a little more.

So there you go, RK and all the rest of you. Flame away, if you wish...

20. I hear what you're saying and I think you're right.
HOWEVER, because humans are subjective creatures.......whenever *I* hear or see "These colors don't run," I am reminded personally of seeing that slaogan on T-shirts during the idiotic "flag-burning amendment" controversy circa 89-90, along with a whole bunch of T-shirts that read "Try burning THIS one, asshole!" over a picture of the flag. And like I said, Clear Channel put billboards all over the south in the last three years with this sloagn on them.

PERSONALLY, this slogan conjures up to me all the wrong images. But that's just me, I guess.

You're right that we cannot concede all images of patriotism to the right. But this particular slogan......? I dunno.

10. I think their whole pitch is STUPID.
How insulting to say Kerry is not the perfect candidate. The VOTERS think he IS the candidate with the right resume and right goals to clean up the years of GOP mess.

Their approach is dumbed down for a junior high level absorption of the issues.

Whoever wrote it did a poor job. They should rewrite that page.

11. TAKE BACK THE FLAG!
Why do patriotic statements like "These colors don't run" necessarily have to be associated with jingoistic, belligerent ultra-conservatism?

Take Back the Flag- it's not the official symbol of the GOP!!!

And the sooner we embrace that fact, the more difficult it will be for them to paint us as seditious communists who hate America.

19. A little aggression doesn't hurt
I appreciate a little attitude with Kerry bumper stickers; in fact, I made one of my own (shown below). If you want one, they're $4 each (wish I could do the BuzzFlash rate...) plus $1 S/H per order. Just send me a private msg. and I'll hook you up.

21. What does that mean?
"These colors don't run"?

The US won't run away from conflict? (How macho of us)
The US flag is made of high quality ink? (very nice touch)

I don't get it.
