Vetwife and Namvet's small step of protest at school awards

Today Jack and I attended our youngest child's award ceremony at the school. We never spoke to each other about this but we both knew our proticol in this matter. The Principal asked all to rise for the Pledge of Allegience and Honor to the Country. Without looking at each other or uttering a sound. We rose. We stood silent out of protest. We were noticed.
We said nothing. We stared at the flag and almost through telepathy hung our heads as they
said the pledge of allegience. One Nation Under God...We did not have a problem with. It was the Equal Justice for All that stuck in our throats.

When the pledge was recited, we were the last to sit and had our heads hung. This will be our stance from now on. If we both felt this way, No heart over hand, No salutation, No reverence to words that people are dying for nought then so be it. We noticed especially the Black and Hispanic community who seemed to want to follow our lead. We held our heads high as we took our seats and applauded for the teachers and the children but were quite ashamed of how this country has lost it's way. A country that he mentally gave his life for.

It was a small statement but one could certainly feel the impact in this little rural town in this big red state. The Wingers and GOP drew the lines in the sand, we just stood our ground and not on their side of the aisle.

I am a teacher who told my principal in advance to never ask me to say lead the pledge.
When she asked why I said for the same reason Jackie Robinson didn't say it..... she agreed and 13 years later she has never asked (But, she's queer and probably a satanist)....
A few right wing teachers have said "well, I would DEMAND that you take your turn... and when you didn't I would put you on a plan of action"
(which my terrorist union AFT rep. said could not happen, especially since I told my boss in advance about my feelings)

5. I try every week on Guy James and

ever since I put out the Take it Back Cd with George Bush's lies and
how this country has been overtaken..from the 2000 election on....People here know who I am...C-Span interviewed me regrding a veterans org. I started but would not let me get a messae out about that CD. If you decide to order it ...Narration of Get out the Vote ..you need to know..10 percent goes to DU and 50 percent to Guy James Show. I really could not afford to narrate, research, produce this 45 minute naration of a mini move on CD but if it changes one vote to get this Bunch out of office, its not to big a price I have paid. Take it Back Folks !

These people around here (my town) know who I am and trust me they do not like me. But they have to respect me, thanks to my efforts of patriotism, (humbly speaking) the C-span school Bus is coming to the children's school in October. I was one of the 25 winners. My child won 3 awards..including the Residential. Some call it Presidential but we call it Residential !
We knew she excelled scholastically, now if the author of that award had gotten some education maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. She liked her Math and Reading award better than the one signed from Bush. We are bringing up our adopted children (who are our grandchildren) liberal and with thought patterns.

I am happy to say that I am the one who called CNN and publicly embarrased Katherine Harris live and Bartcop and Guy James will be playing that clip soon.
