Would it be feasable to start screaming for IMPEACHMENT... |
|
Edited on Wed May-19-04 01:21 PM by HOWLIN_WOLF
and WAR CRIMES HEARINGS AT THE TOP LEVEL OF THIS FASCIST GOVERNMENT?!?!?!?! Look...what have we got to lose? These murderous sonsofbitches didn't listen to the protests around the world against attacking Iraq! If it becomes a partisan issue (as you damn well know it would be) so what? This shit has got to stop and it has got to stop soon...or their "Project For a New American Century" will be ready to be launched into high gear...and I'm convinced it is setting at the starting gate...ready to go! Once AGAIN...I'm going to post what the Honorable Robert H. Jackson said...as the Prosecutor for the United States... at the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal...
"Repeatedly, nations have united in abstract declarations that the launching of aggressive war is ILLEGAL. They have condemned it by treaty. BUT NOW WE HAVE THE CONCRETE APPLICATION OF THESE ABSTRACTIONS IN A WAY WHICH OUGHT TO MAKE CLEAR TO THE WORLD THAT THOSE WHO LEAD THEIR NATIONS INTO AGGRESSIVE WAR FACE INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SUCH ACTS.
<snip>
IF WE CAN CULTIVATE IN THE WORLD THE IDEA THAT AGGRESSIVE WAR-MAKING IS THE WAY TO THE PRISONER'S DOCK RATHER THAN THE WAY TO HONORS, WE WILL HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING TOWARD MAKING THE PEACE MORE SECURE".
Where has the logic and purpose to this great man's insight gone? I doubt that were Mr. Jackson alive today that he would believe what is going on in the world...the very thing that he and others had hoped they had put a stop to!:grr::mad::grr::mad::grr::mad::grr: :nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke:

1. Man, I'm about ready to grab my pitchfork and meet you in DC |
|
This nation is sick, truly sick, and the monsters in charge need to be brought down, and I'm not in the mood to be polite about it. MoveOn's next rally should be soon, like tomorrow, and we should all be out screaming for regime change. Impeach the bastards, imprison them, lock them in Gauntanimo. Better yet, give Abu Graib back to the Iraqis and put Bush there.
We should be picketing every media outlet in the country with signs screaming for impeachment. Or else we are no better than the bloody Nazis, or at least their enablers.

8. It wouldn't happen, but could serve several purposes |
|
Edited on Wed May-19-04 01:36 PM by TNOE
ONE - make it painfully obvious to the world and media that A WHOLE LOT OF AMERICANS HATE GW and want him FIRED.
TWO - Let other countries know that we do not stand behind this pResident and his muderous actions.
THREE - Let George and the powers that be know it is going to be damn hard for them to steal the election when millions of people are out in the street demanding his removal.
Oh yea - and FOUR - its the only way we have left to take back America, if we don't do this, we will all regret it, probably more than the stolen election of 2000 and 9/11 put together.

11. Yeah, yer howlin at the moon, but... |
|
there's a lot of people who feel the frustration.
Impeachemnt is out of the question with a Republican House, and we don't belong to the ICC. So, there's really no recourse but the ballot box. Revolution is doomed to failure, and might not be such a good idea anyway. Think Marat and Castro.
We held the Nuremburg trials for one simple reason-- we won the war. It's the ones in power who bring the charges and try the guilty and the good guys had the power for that one shining moment.
Not now. And not in the foreseeable future.
Stay pissed, though, and don't give in.

A bit of focused screaming can be quite therapeutic.
Most energy should be directed at getting out the vote, getting the vote counted & getting the bastards out of DC!

Do you want President Cheney? That is what you would get if you impeached and removed Bush. Do you really think that President Cheney's policies would be much different than Bush's?
Oh course your could impeach and remove Cheney too, but that would just create President Hastert. Again, not much change in policy.
But all of this is moot. A Republican Congress is not going to impeach and remove a President they agree with.

ALL OF THEM - too late for impeachment, won't happen, we know - but we MUST let the world know there's a whole bunch of Americans who hate GW and don't approve of him.
Not only should he not be re-(s)elected - but HE SHOULD BE FIRED! All of them! Forget impeachment - we just need to get hundreds of thousands organized and have "Fire Bush, et al" signs. In the words of Donald Trump - You Lied, You're Fired!

|
Impeach Bush, Impeach Cheney (He couldn't win an election on his own, anyway), impeach Hastert... sooner or later we get to Pelosi, or we wind up with Kerry.
If nothing else, it would be a good message to Kerry.
My worst fear is that Bush will be beaten and allowed to simply retire with impunity, and that will leave the door open for the same crew to slip back in under the next Repub-- JEB, maybe. We need to brand them all as criminals and squelch their reemergence before it happens.
We can win in November, but they will dog Kerry for four years as they did Clinton. We need to nail the door shut on them this time.

If we impeach W, then who would run on the republican ticket? Notice how visible Mccain has been lately? If we impeach Bush, then they could run Mccain, and he would probably win. Then we would have a president that has agreed with W 90% of the time. We have to let Bush run, so we can win!!

|
I don't think the Repubs would need to worry about who was on the ticket - because that would pretty much be the end of the Republican party
Nixon - Watergate Bush - 9/11, Treason, War, Murder
They'd be done for quite a few years.

30. Even if it CAN'T get thru the House, it still.... |
|
..needs to be started, and here's why.
1) Articles of Impeachment, would be 'read into the record' when presented. No matter what happened later, they would be out there.
2) They WOULD get printed in the newspaper, you would have poll after poll after poll on it.. what do you think the results of that would be?
3) It shows THE WORLD what the AMERICAN PEOPLE think of Shrubya & Co.
4) OK, they House shoots it down... but THINK of the TV Coverage, wall to wall on the debate.
5) ... but WHILE they are shooting it down, they have to DEFEND it. Just watching them run in circles and dancing will tear them down.
6) WHO KNOWS, maybe, just maybe some 'pugs will VOTE FOR IT.
If nothing else, it would be DAMMNED INTERESTING.

that's the idea...to draw attention. Perhaps even draw out some more filth on the Fascists! Look...the traditional Republican I don't think is for this idea of "conquering the world" or further destroying our Constitution. It's this band of fatcats who want everything...just because there is no one to stop them from taking it! Wonder how they'd react if the military turned on them!
