MSNBC - Abrams Report - Should Protesters Be Prosecuted? (6:47 pm EDT)
Edited on Wed May-19-04 05:58 PM by VolcanoJen
Unbelievable.. just showed the "Fire Rumsfeld" protesters. The question proposed by Dan Abrams is "We are told that none of the protesters was arrested, so, tonight, we ask this question: Should they have been? Should protesters who come to disrupt congressional hearings be prosecuted more often?"

Tune in and Enjoy the civil-rights assault...

on edit: damned typos!!!

7. I remember savage once on CNN
on a show which I can't remember the name of, hosted by Arthel Neville, and Charles Barkley was the other guest. Barkley tore him a new a-hole. It was funny! savage almost dropped an N bomb on national TV he was so mad. So ever since then, I just figured he's a harmless fringe element dumbass.

3. Should idiots like Abrams should be prosecuted?
I say yes. They make themselves into active participants in the propaganda war, and should thus not be left out of anything.

6. First, they send up the trial balloon
Just raising the question, as offensive as it is, serves their purpose, which is to inure the public to the thinking that exercising one's free speech rights is (1) wrong; (2) against public policy; and (3) should be punished by something more than just a namby-pamby ejection from the room.

There are earnest debates, and folks pretty much decide that no, protesters shouldn't be punished. Then there's more debate later. And some pundits allow as how, well, maybe removal's not enough. After all, the protests keep happening. Then there's more discussion, and suddenly, the idea that petitioning the government for redress of grievances is a subversive maneuver, and is hanging in the public square really enough for these traitorous America haters?

I'd say the scenario is pretty far-fetched, except it keeps getting played out in such a dazzling variety of ways.

Dan Abrams father, Floyd Abrams, is a famous First Amendment attorney.

I don't know how he raised a son with so little passion for the First Amendment.
